I'm and Island

I have been having troubles at work.  My boss in the office thinks there is a coworker in the office that is crushing on me.  He's never ever made a comment that would suggest anything flirtatious.  My boss even commented to me she thought I was leading him on just by talking to him even if it's just business.  How am I suppose to work this way with this stress? Then,  I have the religious lady at the front desk whos pissed because the boss took her duties and gave them to me.  I wasn't hired to take her responsibilities.  She was so pissed in fact she put me on the spot in front of the boss.  I'd rather just not talk to anyone and keep my door shut.  But, then my boss will ask me why my doors shut.....

I can't go home and talk about this stuff...my beau has no clue what I'm going thru, and far be it from me to interrupt his binge watching.

It's lonely and I don't know what to do anymore.

I am very thankful to have a place like DS where I can go to vent.

Thankfully, I am semi retired now but I still work a little part time and for myself. I spent 30 years of my life working for other ego's and it was challenging just to get out of bed in the morning wondering what kind of drama or criticism I would be facing and every company I ever worked for was like that and when I did good work and took pay raises and promotions, and had others working under me ....it was always the same.. I was either getting shit from above or shit from below....

If there is a happy company where the bosses are compassionate and the coworkers are friendly and helpful, I never found it, outside of instances that were few and far between.

I was always afraid of losing my job because of this, that, and the other thing so I pretty much lived my life in fear but now I am spending alot more time on myself and working toward letting go of all that fear, and it isn't easy and does require work but it is well worth the effort because I am living the remainder of my life in Peace and happiness.

So if I could offer a suggestion from my own experiences, I would say, don't let that stuff bother you, but don't resent others either. Just accept where they are on their own life's journey and try to avoid the temptation of perceiving yourself as unfairly treated. For me, this was the key to my own happiness and piece of mind. It took me a long time to get there but I am happier now then I have ever been., so if someone pushes your buttons, don't avoid it. Use it as an opportunity to practice forgiveness. which is the most powerful tool for overcoming negative emotions. I have proven it to myself many times over.

God Bless

I will sing you a Paul Simon tune over the notion of trying to be an island, butttttttaaaa. . .

I opine that some days it is better to stay out of the Romance District of the metaphorical island.

Still listening. . . Vent freely. Vent often. Continued support while you sort.

I am so tired of worrying about about other people...i just wish I could shut my door.

I wish a closed door was blockade enough to deny access to my worries about other people. Within the confines of my self-imposed isolation chamber, the phantoms of worry only seem to get scarier, especially when my fear of entrapment joins the melee. . .

I wish wishing was enough to fix my problems. . . Yo. . . Fairy Godmother. . . Are you back on duty yet?

Sigh. . . Just wishing. . .

The only more perfect thing, is that my door is shut and the walls are padded.....(heavy sigh).
