I'm a newbie

Hi, I'm Amy and I'm new to this whole thing! I am 42 and have been told that I have asthma since I was very young. I was a regular in the emergency room as a kid and on Prednisone daily for several years as a teenager! I get a cold and 4 days later I have pneumonia. This happened every 3 weeks for the past 2 or three winters along with the colds and bronchitis and  ear infections and chronic sinusitis, (which I need surgery for again) Enough complaining... I have been meeting with an Asthma specialist who went searching for one thing and came up with CVID instead, even surprising himself! (I am not sure why none of my dr.'s  ever thought of this?) With the limited research I have done, this makes sense with my history. I feel like I have not been able to find much for research. Now I have to make a decision about treatments that have scary side effects  and I  don't feel like I have enough information. I also am thinking about my Husband and 9 year old daughter who I love very much, and our future together as a family should one of the serious side effects happen to me. You guys all sound like friends who have been through this and that is what I need right now. (I'm usually very upbeat but very confused and a little overwhelmed right now.)
