I love Monday's

I love Monday's, but I also like the dentist.  Call me crazy.  It helps to absolutely love my job.  I am so grateful that despite the physical nature of my job, I am finding a way to navigate and pace myself through each day.  I realize that in letting go of my expectations of myself and others, there is more joy to be found.  This disease has been very hard. Losing your mobility is scary and if you define yourself by what works you can do, frankly I fall short.  I still can do a lot of physical things that many other people who suffer with MS can't do.  I am fortunate that way.  I know my athletic background has helped me in maintaining my mobility.  Last year I was still in a place of learning to accept this darn disease.  I still looked at what I couldn't do, I still tried to do things under my own power.  When I set forth on each day without the expectation that I have to keep up and do as able bodied people do, when I set the intention to find joy, when I embrace where I am at today, when I surrender to God and ask for him to carry me through, little miracles happen.
I had the best day yesterday.  My husband took me to an all day country music festival in Indio.  It was hot and a long day.  We left early and got home late.  But to start my day with giving my worry to the Lord, o not be anxious and expect my body to shut down, and to honor what my body needed at each given moment, brought a day full of joy and freedom from this disease.  Not freedom from the symptoms but freedom from it making a prisoner of me that day.  I am grateful for each day I have.
