I lost my son in a car accident
I just found out about this site and not quite sure how it all works. My 33 year old son was killed in a car accident 4 months ago, Thanksgiving weekend, and I am having a very hard time accepting that he is really gone. Not a day goes by that I don't start crying, sometimes in the middle of doing something and I feel like I may never be happy or feel whole again. I am so sad and miss him so much. Some days are better than others. Today I was busier so I was a little better than the past few days. Just so hard to believe I will never see him again. I miss him every minute of the day.

I am so terribly sorry about the loss of your son, and I too, lost my son, Douglas, in July of 2008, and the very understanding and wise women on FMO have been a lifeline for me. There are no timelines and we are each so very unique, yet the heart tethers that bind us are ever present.
Please know that however you are feeling is what it needs to BE for today and I know that I can cycle through many different emotions in a day and that is what makes this path so energy zapping. I have learned to allow myself lots of grace and wiggle room and to know that there is nothing \"wrong\" with me. The loss of a child is the ultimate loss and you are among women who \"get it.\"
Gentle care and a warm welcome to our healing haven as that is what it has been for me and I hope that in time you will feel it too.
Hand in hand and Heart to heart,
XO Joanie/Mom of Douglas

Yes, the early years are so exhausting and harsh. We lost our son almost 7 years ago and there are times when it is very difficult to know he will not be seen again on this side. He will be forever 34. My faith helps a lot but it does take awhile. I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your son. I hope you find understanding and compassion here as I have. It has been one of the tools that has gotten me through the last years.
Sending hugs,
Leda
Our children are all together rooting for us to live as best as possible. We are here to help each other do just that. All the pain in losing them is at the surface all the time, yet a comment I just read is very helpful. We have to remember the joy of the years we had and honor them as we continue on this earth. I know it is hard yet I truly believe they want us to. Peace, Kathy
I am so sorry for the loss of your precious son. I lost my David in a car accident in December of 2014 6 days before his 23rd birthday. I\'m glad you have found this community. It is a blessing to have people who understand what this journey is like. I find being busy and volunteering helps me. Please be gentle with yourself until you find what works for you. Tight hugs,
I am so sorry you lost your son. I also lost my son he will forever be 28 his day ended 12/20/08 . This group of women saved me from torment and feeling all alone. I found comfort in writing my feelings down, that is how I got them out of my head. Being busy helped also, but each of us are different.
Tight Hugs
Penny
Hello and welcome. I am so glad you found us and so sorry you needed to. I found the moms here just a few months after I lost my 22 year old son, Alex in 2007. The moms here understand when no one else can.
Although 4 months feels like a lifetime ago (some days) it is soooo recent. Tears will be your companion...there is so much to grieve. And it is the worst thing that can happen to a mom. It is a roller coaster ride,so take any highs that come along because it will drop again. Just know that \"in time\" you will find happiness again...it just takes time
Writing journals like these really helped me. And you can read our journals as well...and you will see how we have move through things. Love and gentle hugs...Karen
