I know a little girl.

I know a little girl.she lives in a huge granite stone castle.the castle has only one door and from the front room looking out the window i can see very tall summer grass.i go out side,it strikes me as strange that there is no track beaten to the front door.the grass is long and it smells sweet and chimes of crikets.i walk through untill i can walk no more as a sheer clifface pulls my eyes down to the raging ocean and rocky shore.the shore seems miles away and you could never teather a boat to it.the sea and stone would crush anything that was caught to close.i turn back and as i wade my way up to the castle i see the little girl peeping out from behind a heavy curtain.she is so small,if your eye wasnt trained you would miss her.small and fair,she could only be four or five at the most.she sees me and comes running from the door her arms held up wide with large deep eyes and a big smile on her face.her little legs carry her as fast as they can and she bounds up and bursts into my arms.for that moment the world stops and we are in heaven.she doesnt talk and knows nothing of the world.i am her world.she takes my hand and wants to play.to run arms outstreched being aroplanes,to skip,to have me play with her hair and hold her close in the sunshine while telling her stories.we play and lay and love all afternoon."the storm is coming"i say as black clouds steamroll toward our beautiful day.the shadows fall on us and the wind chills our skin.with her mind she says "its time to go isnt it?"i say "yes,but ill be back soon".she hugs me and runs for her door.i wait untill i see her peeping from the window and i wave and blow her a kiss with a sad heart.
i know this little girl because she is me.i created a protective space for her when the abuse began.i hid her where they couldnt find her.where they couldnt hurt her.to this day she is safe and knows nothing of the world.i am her world.
