I know......

I know, I know...... I shouldn't have allowed it but I did.  T wouldn't get up this morning, claiming he's too tired.  Being tired is no excuse but when I called in, the attendance lady suggested that "just for this time" we will say he's "sick".  I was so anxious about calling, then calling his PO and telling him ......so when she said we'd just let it slip this time, I was relieved.  I know I should have insisted it be an unexcused absense but I feel I allowed him to stay out too late after his AA meeting - contributing to his "problem".  He was actually home by 10 (earlier than the suggested time for someone in treatment) but I know the later he stays out and drinks coffee, the harder it is to get to sleep and then to get up.  I also think he may be using again.  Between the diluted screens and the fact he had a conversation with one of his using friends on line, makes me think he's tried something.  He's been a bit of a struggle with the tutoring thing.  Makes me thinks something is going on.  I made a doctor's appt. today to rule out anything else so -- maybe it will help me get out of this guessing game.   Update:  I took him in to the doctor and the doctor said that he has a virus and gave him a written excuse to be out for 2 or 3 days!!  I think it's taking it a bit far but I'm not the professional now am I?  I know he is feeling run down because I actually have what he has and I know how he feels but I think he can make it through treatment today since he was well enough to go to his last class today.  He may then feel well enough to go to AA.  I can see the handwrtiing on the wall.  Funny how selective his illness can be when it comes to chosing when he's well enough.  I hate missing treatment - especially family group.  We've only attended one so far.  Frustrating.  **Oh.....doctor tested for drugs - both blood an urine. T was very confident that they were going to be clear.  Doctor also tested for diabetes because of T's intense thirst.  I'm glad because I told T I heard a rumor today that he used or is using. He immediately asked me if it was a certain adult we know that set him up in AA.  I said no, didn't know what he was talking about.  I will find out.  T told me that the fellow was going to call us to tell us what he heard.  T said his sponsor told off the guy, telling him no that T isn't using.  Funny, I know he's conversing with someone on-line that is a user.  There are definitely some questions.

it seems more than coincidental that Monday therapy takes a back seat......just a view from a far. Be good to yourself.
