I Just Don't Know
Where the heck to begin!
Mon Apr 4th. I'm still confused abt the whole thing. I had not really slept well at all the night before but I woke up my usual early time & somehow just wasn't sure in general. I sat up, stretched, gave myself a few moments & thought OK once I get up, get coffee going, start moving, things will straighten themselves out. I was down in the kitchen getting coffee going & it was like my head & hands just weren't connecting-I couldn't seem to get the lid back on the coffee container. I thought OK maybe I need to go back upstairs for a while. I was abt halfway up the stairs, I remember hearing a loud bang & next I know I woke up at the bottom of the stairs kind of head & face down. Wow was one side of my neck sore for a while. I got up & went up to the bedroom to wake up hubby. I told him what had happened & we went back downstairs together & sat at the kitchen table. Within a few moments I felt OK this is not going to work & I told him I needed to lie down. I got up fr the table with him by my side barely went a few steps & bingo down I went again. He helped me up & sat me on a chair nearby, then I felt really nauseated & was somewhat sick. He then decided OK time to call 911. He got me to the livingroom & within no time paramedics were there. They took me to the ER. I do know they had a horrible time with my blood pressure, it was super low somehow. They kept tilting the head of the stretcher back to elevate my feet. So the hospital did a large blood work up. They took me for a CT scan of my head & neck & wanted to do x-rays. By the time we were in X-ray I could tell that standing in front of the machine was maybe not going to work. I told the techs & they moved my bed right behind me & said if I felt myself going just back onto my bed. They got one x-ray & I had to lie down. I then could tell I was going to be really sick so thankfully they were prepared. They decided to just take me back to my room. They put me on all kinds of IV fluids & anti nausea stuff. As the day went on I stabilized again. A dr confirmed that my blood levels were all normal, the one x-ray was fine also. OK here's what kind of funny-he also said that the CT scan showed nothing in my head or neck. He stopped himself, stepped back, laughed & apologized & said wait that doesn't right does it. Even I felt better. A couple times he kept going back to the fact that I had taken my methotrexate injection the day before. The only thing he could conclude was that because I'm immune suppressed that I had experienced some kind of adrenal deficiency thing. I told him I had battled a good head cold several days before & the wk before that there were a couple major stress triggers re hubby's health issues. A lupus body is unable to release the proper cortizol to help balance you during stress. The dr had asked if I still drive. I said yes. He asked if I would feel symptoms coming on & be able to pull over in time. I honestly had to say no I wouldn't. It put him in a position where he should have called motor vehicles to suspend my license. I told him that if I started the day & felt off in any way there's no way I'd get behind the wheel of a car. He trusted me & let it be.
So I went out & bought a blood pressure monitor. I check my blood pressure several times a day & so far I find I've a tendency to be low in the morning & it can be until abt mid to late morning. Things have slowly gotten better, lightheadidness/dizzy spells are going, one or two a day. I see my rheumy on May 29th so I really want to hear his thoughts on this & where he feels we go fr here. All I know is - I've got a life to get back too & hello! want to do it sooner then later. I'm not driving that much yet, short bits here & there. I promised the dr I'd not take chances until I felt alot more stable.
OH hubby. He can tell the home oxygen makes a difference in so many ways. We just got his portable oxygen very recently & we both can tell it really was a good move to make. He's experiencing some side effects from the hormone shot he had for his prostrate cancer but nothing that we can't deal with so far. He has some flair times that are COPD related but a main key is to accept that it's happening & do whatever you need to make things better in those moments.
We do always remember to embrace each day for what it offers & maybe even learn from it for the next day.
Oh yea- if anyone has some warm spring weather to spare we sure can take some here, man talk abt a depressing spring so far. Lots of birds are now back & we so love watching their antics from the sun room. It's strange how it can be comforting somehow.
So I think I've babbled enough. I do so love all my dear friends here!

I\'m worried about you and your fall, could it be a stroke? Really, next time call 911 right away! That\'s what they get paid for, okay? I agree that, even for those with good health, you never know what\'s around the corner so live each day to the fullest (if/when you can)... We have alot to learn from these lessons, big or small. I\'ll send you some of our weather, spring arrived about 2 days ago....actually did some yard cleanup today in the sunshine, but have 4-5 days of rain ahead. xxoo your babbling.... xo
I know you will take care yourself. You are being prayed for all the time. If I had any spring weather to send I sure would send it. Been cold and rainy here.
I am glad your going to go see your doctor. Praying for you to get better so we can have our phone chat. I miss you . Love n prayers, Frieda
I do hope that episode never happens to you again! I am praying for you and for hubby. I\'m hoping that spring brings both of us rejuvenation in body and mind. We\'ve had some spring weather but now are getting some storms. Hurry spring!!! Let\'s all get some much needed rest. xoxo
