I Just Don't Know
I feel kind of emotionally drained at times this last week. Hubby's sister in law passed away. She was 90 I think. But she was such a gentle person. She never aspired to riches & such. A main thing is that she always always accepted me & would make me feel welcome. A point here is that hubby's ex was/is related to her. There are two families that became very connected over the decades thru marriages, a real soap opera. So I can tell you it was interesting at the funeral & gathering as talk abt feeling like a third wheel, holy moly. But I surprised myself that I stayed true to me, was polite with everyone, chatted with people when need be & just, well, stayed true to me.
Then a couple days after that, my girlfriend of 40 years, her mom passed away so, well, what can I say. It was at that service that I connected with feeling very emotionally drained.
My hubby's friend thru work(back when they were both bus drivers) & former neighbour, they've stayed connected for abt 45 years, well, he's in the hospital in a Palliative care ward & is expected to pass at almost any time. Like my dad he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer that's very aggressive & spread to his spine & bones.
So on that note - I'm emotionally drained & so pray that the Lord will let me lean on him for a bit, maybe just help support me for a brief while.
And, the cat shelter, well things are getting shaken up there. The building is in deplorable shape & is to the point where I know it's not healthy for the cats or for us workers. There's been so many leak/water problems that I cringe at the amt of mold that could be forming. There was a strange incident last wk with wiring & it resulted in actually picking up a smoky smell in the air. They had an electrician come over & he had a scanner thing that enables him to see whats in the wall. He said the whole side wall is wet & hence the wiring of course is pretty much done. HELLO, I figured why am I & my co-worker the ones that seems to realize there's a disaster waiting to happen here. Can we say roof tiles coming down because of rotting material & a side wall thats heaving. Come on people!! OK, here's the thing, I prayed long & hard & realized I need to try & do something. I called the area of our city officials that are responsible for derelict buildings. I reported the shelter & reported some of the issues. So an inspection will be done & we'll see where it goes. I know there's been a couple inspections over the yrs but they obviously always seemed to pass or it got swept under the rug so to speak. The city will call me after the inspection & this time I'm not letting them off that easily. If I don't agree with what they say or what they feel they saw then I'm arguing the point.
My question - am I butting in where I shouldn't be. There's the lifes of abt 100 cats in question here & I jut felt that I needed to try & fight for those that can't fight for themselves.
I've started a new type of yoga class. There is the true yoga physical aspect of it but this one is also very spiritual, very focused on your soul. There is some chanting thats done a couple times & it's really like nothing I've ever experienced before. I find the physical aspect of it a little more difficult then I'm used to but I'm still going to give it a try for a bit.
Way too much snow here, if anyone wants some we sure have enough to spare. Way to cold too for a bit now. Mother nature is being a bit testy I'm thinking. I think I need to make little booties for my birds & maybe earmuffs for my squirrel, poor little duffers.
Oh well, before I ramble too much I'll sign off for now.

You certainly are a animal lover. Go make clothing for God\'s animals how beautiful is that? You brought tears to my eyes just thinking of it.
I am so sorry for all the death and illness you have been faced with and leaning on God is the best place to be. He is your rock and your strength. You are such a sweet lady I could never understand any one not likeing you so don\'t worry about that.
What do you have planned for that cat shelter? is the owner going to do any thing for them cat\'s? Do you have a Humane Society you can send them cats too.
Love, Frieda
You have been through so much! I hope you are finding some time to rest and recover. The yoga sounds good. Whenever I try something new like that, I like to mentally insert something about my own beliefs in the chant. When they say OM, I mentally say Christ or something like that. : ) I think you did the right thing about the shelter. I know you have given this a lot of consideration and prayer over much time and I think it was so responsible of you to do that. I hope it all goes smoothly!
I had to giggle when I saw that you called the squirrel a duffer. I was watching \"From Lark Rise to Candleford\" on Netflix and my favorite character \"Queenie Turrell\" calls her husband that (Twister Turrell) all the time. So funny. Praying for you!
Ramble away, hun, that\'s what we do here. So sorry to hear about your month so far, emotionally draining overload, very difficult and I\'m sorry you\'re going through all this. Prayers and yoga will help you. Way to go about butting your nose in....that\'s what makes change, my friend. Too many of us, incuding me just would complain and do nothing. You\'ve stepped up and I hope you get some traction and support. HUGS
I\'m sorry Kitty. Hopefully you will get a rest from all the emotional turmoil.
I think its great you are sticking up for the kitties, evidently the shelter is not concerned much for their welfare.
The new class sounds interesting. I\'ve been going to one through LFA and the guy is awesome, he always reads a poem or quote before and after the class. Love him.
Hope you get some results with the shelter issue soon.
Take good care!
