I have to remind myself that he WILL leave...

I'm an alcoholic.  I think about that first drink after work and how great it will taste (it usually isn't as good as I want it to be).  Besides the problem of slowly killing my liver, I'm killing my marriage.  I love my husband and daughter more than life itself.  I can't imagine a life without them.
When my husband and I drink together, we fight.  We have terrible screaming fights.  Last night, actually said the words "Stop drinking".  I handed him my half-full beer and vowed at that point to not touch another sip of alcohol.  Even during fights, he's never touched on the alcoholism, even when he wants to hurt me.  When I've tried to quit in the past, I forget about the terrible fights we have and the urge takes over.  I won't let it happen again.
He WILL leave if I don't get my act together.  And Lord help me if he does because he will try to take my daughter, as well.  I couldn't live without them.  They are my whole world.  As I write this, I can feel my eyes welling up with tears because just the thought of losing either one of them kills me.
So, today, I turn over a new leaf.  I will be sober from this day forward, and a better wife and mother.  I will take care of my family.  I am a new woman.
Thank you for listening.
