Hi Debbie and welcome to PEACE. I am relatively new to the site and live in Ireland. I think this group is a wonderful resource but it\'s very sad that so many mothers all over the world are suffering in this way. You can read my story on discussions and my recent update on \'what goes around comes around\'. It never ceases to amaze me that our children seem to change so much when they meet their partners. In my case my daughter became very verbally abusive towards me as soon as she got engaged. I blamed my now son in law but recent events have made me rethink. From reading what you have said it would seem that your daughter\'s partner is very controlling and has been busy isolating your daughter from all support. This is usually a sign of an emotional abuser but unfortunately there is very little you can do. Your daughter is an adult and must find out for herself, which she will in time. You say you are not sending any more gifts, I think that is a good idea because it lets her see that you are moving on. It might help if you could send her a message, telling her that you have accepted her choice and are moving on with your life. Wish her every happiness but let her know that the door will always be open if she needs you. Do stay strong snowflack I \'know\' the pain you are going through but you must take care of you in all this. Hugs, Marta
