I have been scammed!

I often hear about different scams, but I never thought that I would fall in such a trap. Well, I did, ans I feel awful.

Two days ago a strange woman sent me a friend request on facebook. I accepted, and next thing I received messages from "her". "She" introduced "herself" as Mary Fredrick, 59, and dying of cancer. The introduction to "her" message was: "CALVARY GREETINGS TO YOU". The person bombarded me with Christian faith statements, and said that the Lord has directed her/him to me, to carry out "her" dying wish, as "her" husband had passed away, and "she" had no children to help her. I fell for this sad story hook, line and sinker!

The dying wish was to help her transfer her money to my bank, (5 million dollars), so that I can donate the money to the poor, homeless, cancer institutions, etc. on "her" behalf. We then changed to e-mail correspondence. "She" asked me many times not to betray "her", and I made that promise to "her", with God as my witness! I e-mailed my identity document, as well as my banking details and address. Turned out the "bank manager" is some devil's child from Nigeria!

I am such a fool!!!

It\'s unfortunate there are people out there that do such a thing. My dad was scammed out of $7000 a couple of years ago with an emergency call from \"my son\" (wasn\'t really) needing cash immediately to get out of jail. Of course my dad wired the money.

I do hope you have closed the account and am working with the bank to prevent it from happening again. And if you haven\'t done so, please report the name of this women to DS under the abuse contact.

I\'m so sorry this happened to you. With all you are dealing with, you sure didn\'t need this to happen on top of it all. Do take care and please don\'t let this incident ruin your faith in God and your fellow man.

Hugs and prayers, Dan

Sweetie, I am so sorry you had this happen to you. How can be people be so cruel as to play on our feeling and sympathy\'s the way she did to you. This makes me so MAD. I hope you can get this straightened out and work on putting it behind you. Huggs and love xoxo

We have all fallen prey to scams.. she(he) took advantage of your good heart - make sure to notify your bank immediately if you have not already done so and report it to the police..

Thank you, people! I have been to my bank manager, and steps have been taken to prevent any unfamiliar withdraws from my account. Fortunately no money had been taken! Because that person(s) used God\'s Name to win my trust, I have prayed that God Himself will deal with him/them!
