DAMMIT, that totally sucks. I\'ve heard of this scam before and all I can think is: don\'t these evil pricks have anything better to do with their time? Did you do anything exciting this weekend outside of being hacked? XoOXx

Ohhhhhhh! Good job I logged in here because I usually never do! I thought it didn\'t sound like you. And the title \"Emergency Please!\" I thought was you joking around, playing on the fact I\'m about to become a paramedic so I didn\'t even open it until today. Doh! Glad I read this, and even gladder that you\'re ok!
Someone hacked into my yahoo account a couple years ago and closed it. Not sure if my ex figured out my password and closed it or if it was a real hacker. Glad nothing bad happened! Thanks for the heads up. Hugs!
The things that I go through just to get the Beautiful Amanda\'s attention! lollollol
Oh wow - that is very scary. Good that you informed the authorities. In this day and age one never knows I guess what could be done in their name or screen name....
Hi, Eric......thought I would add here that I received a similar email supposedly from a friend who \"had been stranded in the UK, had lost her wallet (with passport and money), couldn\'t pay her hotel bill, etc.\" and it wanted me to send $2,000 because she was in such dire straights. It said she left in a hurry to attend a seminar and that\'s why she hadn\'t told me she would be out of the country. Surrrrrrrrrrrr!!! The first thing I did was to call my friend\'s work place and I found that, yes, she was out of town but was staying in the Great Smoky Mtns on holiday and was fine. I called her cell phone and found that she had tried to use her computer to report this, but someone had changed her password so she was locked out of her account. I reported it for her ASAP.
Now for a very important part....in fact, T-H-E MOST IMPORTANT thing. The week before she had had an email supposedly from Yahoo telling her that they were updating everybody\'s personal information and listed a number of questions. One was....\"what is your password?\" My friend is intelligent, but sure did drop the ball by adding her password (BIG-time Charlie Brown grin) along with all the other requested information in the email she sent back \"to Yahoo\". Yahoo NEVER SENT OUT EMAILS LIKE THAT !!!!!! She had one H--l of a mess getting things straightened out. Needless to say, she established a new account with a new password.
The hacker(s) had sent the same email I received to either all, or most all, of the folks on her contact list. I worried for a time that contacting her might mean some kind of virus would be transmitted to my computer.......thank goodness that didn\'t happen. I am V-E-R-Y cautious about opening certain emails. If I have a bad feeling about them I delete them up front. Also, I have become wary about going to the uTube site and MY Space. It\'s sad that such a valuable tool as the computer is compromised by mean-spirited weirdos at times.
Thanks, Eric for posting this here. As I have told you, you are a neat and caring guy despite what you tell folks. (smiles.while sticking my tongue out at you) Hugs and hugs...........Joanie
