I have Aspergers syndrome
I have Aspergers syndrome was diagnosed with it when I was 30 yrs old (now 35 yrs old). Aspergers syndrome has it's good points and bad points for me
The good points are:- A family member being a bit more understanding of my aspergers, had more friends, had more of a social life, had more support available to me
The bad points are:- People that assume that Aspergers is a learning disability when it is not, people can have learning disabilities or learning difficulties with A.S but, it is not a learning disability or difficulty. Aspergers syndrome is a developmental disorder.
People who expect me to just go out for dates when I have known then for less than a day, It take me ages to get to know and trust a person,
Can be very shy, especially when I know that I really fancy the person
Not being able to pick up on none verbal body language or gestures very well
Not very good with eye contact
Do not like hard feeling towels or any other rough textures
Have to feel weighted down with two duvets on bed instead of one
Not very good with change
Having meltdowns when life get too much for me
Cant deal with sensory over load
People who just dont understand me and give me too easy things too do, just because I very anxious of them, when nervous of people find it hard to smile at the correct times so that people seem to think awwww if she smiles she gets it, erm nope!!!!!! if I do it right and you dont patronise me then I gets it
Aspergers is a part of me and if people dont accept it then please move on and bother someone else!!!!!!!!!
