I hate thinking of titles.
We are visiting my mother-in-law just outside of Vegas. She has pictures of my husband when he was little all over the house. We were looking at them and he was just so darn cute. I was smiling and loving seeing him as a little kid and baby. Then the thought popped into my head "that's what our baby would have looked like." I had to go in the bathroom and cry.
Otherwise the trip has been a nice getaway. Kind of helps distract my brain, for the most part.
I had a good talk with the kids the evening before we left about the miscarriage, and I only cried a little. I asked them if they had any questions. Turns out my husband had talked to SD about it, but not SS. SD said she was just worried about me. SS wanted to know why it had happened. I explained that we didn't know why it happened, that often it is a genetic problem. That I was ok. Some days were hard and I still cried sometimes, but that I will be ok. They are 12 and 11, so they were able to understand. SS asked if we could try again and I said yes. He said good because he wants a little brother or sister. It was nice to hear that because I wasn't sure how he had felt about it. SD had bought me a baby book for my birthday and I assured her I was saving it. She was glad. It felt good to be able to talk with them and feel better about knowing they weren't confused or worried.

Glad to hear you are on a getaway and \"distracting\" yourself temporarily. I can totally relate to seeing pics of DH as a kid and feeling sad about my loss, I have experienced this exact thing many times and it\'s so painful. Hope you can enjoy your time in Vegas and it helps you heal, if just for a few days. Hugs
Im happy too hear you were able to enjoy yourself, even if you did have a moment. One day at a time. Your stepkids sound like sweet kids and im glad you have their support. Xoxo
