I hate being a landlord, makes me want to kill myself
When my parent died I was left with a house I couldn't afford to pay for on my own. So after a year I found renters. I am grateful I have renters but they are such a pain in my ass. I'm trying to deal with this intense grad class and I had to drop everything to have the a major exterior repair done. Now I had to replace a major appliance. Since I just had the major exterior repair 2 weeks ago, I'm not working, I'm in grad school - I'm a little tight on money so I didn't run out and buy a new appliance. I found a used appliance that I thought would get the job done but now they want me to replace the replacement appliance and I'm just trying to finish a term paper. It brings on so much stress and I just want to cry. I mean I'm tearing up. I thought I had the problem solved, appliance picked up, dropped off and it wasn't clean enough. They took pictures of mold and gave me a story about how it isn't safe for their famil - of two. It is my fault for not thoroughly cleaning out the appliance before I took it to them but it wasn't on my itinerary today. I was just trying to get the problem fixed. I lost sleep over it last night. Had to take a trazadone to get back to sleep. I just need things to quit breaking and falling apart. I'm trying so hard. It makes me so sad. Daily I think if I had my will drawn up I could end my life with everything settled and it isn't my fault God gave me depression. He should let me into heaven anyway. So daily I struggle and talk myself out of killing myself. It gets old after 17 years of depression. I don't even care about the money that I wasted on the appliance. I am struggling with the idea of listing the property for sale, again. The tenants hassle me so much showing the property is going to be a problem. I can't handle the stress.

They sound like bullies to me! They should be so lucky...most times when you rent a house the appliances are not included. As for showing the home, they have to comply. Although from the sounds of it they probably wouldn\'t prepare for it. Hugs to you!
Oh my heart goes out to you! That truly is major stress, and I sympathize with having to deal with all that. I too would consider putting it for sale, if it is feasible. I had a friend who had to deal with similar renter issues and they really made her life hard, so I know how it is. Fears of this type of thing are one of the reasons we have not ventured into the world of rentals. You may even consider consulting someone with legal knowledge if you can just so you know what your rights are, too! You can do this, you\'ve come so far and worked so hard - don\'t let them have the power of you to make you give up your dreams! Thinking of you.....
Thank you BOTH tinlizzie and P00hbear for taking the time to read this and for offering your support. I managed to get through it. It was quite an ordeal. You.re right, P00hbear, I plan on consulting a legal service for advice on putting the house up for sale. I ended up buying them a new appliance but it is being delivered several days later than it was available because I was not too pleased with the hassle.
