I GOT THE LEAD!
Oh. My. Good golly gumdrops. Ok. so I didn't the part I auditioned for...But I did get the LEAD ROLE! I am going to be playing La LLorona. She's a ghost, and she's a very comedic and dramatic role, all at once. She has a solo that she sings, and she has a puppet that she uses throughout the play. I am beyond ecstatic. She is the female lead of the play! I'm sorry, I probably sound so obnoxious right now. But it's just SO EXCITING that after months and months of NOTHING, and being people's bitch and doing their dirty work, I'm centerstage. It's finally here. My moment in the sun is back again. Now on the bad side, I'm sure people will talk. There are seniors who went out for this role who are NOT happy that they lost out to a sophomore. I'm gonna have to deal with the gossip and being treated like a second class citizen. But I can handle that, because I'M the one getting the applause, I'M the one with my name on that playbill. I shut my mouth and acted happy and excited for them, even though I was livid. Seriously? We're all actors. It's not that hard to put on a happy face and congratulate someone. It's called good sportsmanship. Hmm. What else..Oh! More acting news! My scene in my performance workshop class got chosen to go on to the Massachusetts High School Drama Guild! Basically, what happened was, every person in our class paired up and practiced a scene. Two pairs got chosen to be sponsored and go onto the actual competition. It's a statewide competition, and the prize is a scholarship. I'm so pumped. The judging criteria just to be able to compete was so intense. It was absolutely NERVE WRACKING being up there while the judges frowned and worte things down. Gahhhh. But in the end, we got picked. My partner is a really sweet girl named Nina. We're doing a scene from a show called Agnes of God. Long story short, Nina plays my therapist and I play a nun who was abused by her mother, and who later grew up to have a baby...and strangle it, leaving it in a trashcan. My chracter has honestly blocked everything out, so it's a challenge to play someone so innocent. But there's also a part where she talks about how her mom called her fat and ugly growing up, and I can relate to feeling ugly, so I feel like that's the strongest part of my scene. I totally throw myself into the role and become her. We actually made our audience cry when we performed it, so I'm hoping the judges at the actual cpmpetition will be just as touched. Well. I think I've babbled enough. Everything else is the same. Nothing new. No boyfriends, naturally. Oh, Robbie. Dammit all. Who knows. Maybe something will happen. We'll just have to wait and see. All my love, Megan

Oh, sweetie, words cannot describe how excited I am for you!!! I just KNEW your time would come-and it has! AND a sophmore beating out seniors! Wow! Try not to let what they might say bring you down. After all it is just jealous and pettiness, and should be taken with a grain of salt. It\'s just not worth it, because in the end it\'ll be you who comes out shining on top. I know the story Agnes of God, and is it ever intense. What a story you had to audition with. So exciting that your school got chosen, and that YOU actually brought them to tears. THESE are the kinds of moments you will remember from high school years down the road. All the other crap will fade. Enjoy this sweetie, you soo deserve it! My love to you...xxxx.
