I Feel So Ashamed

My BF Leon paid me a visit this morning. The last time I heard from him was last week when he told me angrily to snap out of it. When he saw me, I could feel the sadness that washed over him, he told me how much he wanted to see me, how much his heart ache when he was no longer hearing from me. I never realized how much he was feeling my pain, thought he simply abandoned me.He came to my bed propped me up and tucked me underneath his arm, he placed his hands on my chest only to see the shock on his face. He asked me how could I still be living at the rate my heart was going. I simply told him that I don't know but I expressed to him how much I would want this chest pain to disappear.Of course he started telling me about school and how he had finally gotten his degree in science and technology. When I heard the progress he was making, he was interrupted by the low whimpering sounds I was making. I couldn't help it especially when I realized how much everyone was going on with their lives and I was simply in bed playing the role of a bum. I missed the presentations, people telling me how I was gonna be a great historian. I missed it all. Leon started rocking me apologizing to the fact that he was so caught up with himself that he didn't stopped to think that I'm in a delicate moment in my life. In my shaking voice I told him that there was no need to stop his story on my account. If he's happy then he has no reason to hold back for my sake. He rocked me some more until I settled down. During this time my Dad sleeping since he never got a chance to sleep between last night and this morning.Begged Leon if we could remain in this position for a while since I missed being in his arms. He had no obligations since he didn't have any plans for today. While listening to his heartbeat reminding myself how a heart should be, he reached for his pocket, pulling out something I only saw on TV. Something that would prompt my Dad to kill me if he ever saw me with it. I looked up to Leon, wondering to myself if he was serious. I was like, "how or when did you get this." He told me that it was something his friend gave him. He remarked that sometimes when he was studying for his finals that he would smoke some just to feel high which allowed him to ace his test. He figured that maybe this would ease the tension I am under. The idea sounded so irresistible. I mean I've seen people taking this stuff and feeling like a million bucks so I knew Leon wasn't lying at all. I imagined it, no more headache, chest, and back pains. I grew with anticipation when I thought how much the tingling feeling in my bad would subside. He placed one on the table and told me that I could try some whenever I'm ready. We talked some more then he got a call on his phone prompting him to leave. He wanted to give me a kiss but I told him not to since I don't know what would happened if he did. He was very disappointed about it but put on a smile for me just the same.Around 2 hours later my Dad woke up. Told him that Leon paid me a visit and I explained to him how much Leon understood and how he stayed with me for almost the whole morning. My Dad not exactly pleased since he always told me that whenever someone is at the door I should get him to open the door, even if he is sleeping. My Dad came into my room, administering my prozac to me while he explained his plans for today. As he set my drinking glass on my table he saw the "gift" that Leon left for me. He took it up, looked at it and there was silence, during that moment I saw tears running down his face, I didn't realize that I would go through this again. He emphatically ask me why I would accept something like this? Then for the first time in a while I expressed my frustration to him, telling him how much I want to feel better.
Thinking that I was gonna get it, my heart didn't just race it pounded and I started remember the shouting I used to get from him when I was younger. However out of nowhere he started to hug me, hugging me ever so tightly telling me how much he doesn't want to lose me. How much he loved me and reminding and for the first time he expressed how much he missed my mom, the sleepless nights he had waking up in the morning alone in his bed. He told me to promise him that I will never do drugs no matter what and reminded me that despite how long it will take, he's willing to go through it with me. With that he took the strange looking cigarette and threw it down the toilet. When I heard the toilet flush I couldn't help but this how much I probably would have felt better if I had taken it. But everything in life is a process, a lesson that I've just started to learn. Looking back I realized how selfish I was. Never took into consideration the trouble my Dad took into carrying me to the hospitals, therapist, etc. I was willing to risk it with some science experiment that could have thrown all that through the window. He doesn't deserve a person like me for he has done so much for me.

WOW, you made me cry with your story! You do have an amazing dad. I can tell you from experience that smoking pot made my heart beat faster and sent me into the worst panic attack I have had in my entire life and I have suffered from attacks for almost 25 yrs! I thought it would mellow me out like it did in high school and make me laugh again, but it just messed me up! Bad!

I know your bf was just trying to help and it was so nice of him to come spend time with you, that was so very sweet of him to stay that long with you and listen to you and maybe even come to realize just a little bit what you are going through with your heart beating so fast! Bless his heart for still sticking around to be there for you!

Your dad really seems to care about you and what happens to you and darlin, let me tell ya something I have learned in my 30 years of my adult life.....that is one rare thing to have! Most of all our parents still want to tell us to \"Just shake it off, we all have been stressed\" or \"What do you have to be paniced over?\" at least my folks both do not have a clue what I go through! So you are so blessed to have a dad that cares about what is happening to you!

I am so sorry to hear about everything you are going through, but you will be in my thoughts and prayers or whatever you believe! I hate to see people in pain. I have fibromyalgia and I, at the moment hurt everywhere in my body! Not a joint or muscle that doesn\'t hurt me! So when somebody hurts like I do, I feel really bad or them, as I know exactly what you are going through!

Big gentle hugs to a new friend!

After researching the effects and listening to your story, I\'m glad I didn\'t smoke anything. Read somewhere online that prozac and weed was a big no no. Someone had posted an experience they had where they felt very very suicidal after taking it, the opposite of what most people felt when they smoke it.

My BF is actually my ex boyfriend but to be honest with you, it might sound strange but I wasn\'t exactly in the mood to be differentiating the difference between the two when I wrote this. My Dad always been a witness to my tears because of him. He always argued about the fact that I was being selfish. He even accused me for wasting his time, telling me that for me to be depressed when I have someone like him is clear evidence that I\'m an ungrateful person. Now ever since this has happened my Dad\'s thoughts about him are black. Despite how much I might be craving for attention, I can\'t afford to take him back. Although if my Dad wasn\'t around I probably would take him back. I know...I know...I\'m sounding very pathetic.

Well it wasn\'t always like this where my Dad was concerned. In a way I am somewhat lucky in that he has witness the reasons why I have become like this especially since he was apart of my troubles earlier on. Plus my therapist speaks to him a lot which greatly helps. Something that initially annoyed and angered my Dad to no ends.

The pain is sometimes bearable while other times its maddening levels. Suppose to be visiting another doctor very soon to get a different opinion and possibly another set of medications.

I\'m very sorry about what you are going through, especially after hearing that you\'ve been through this for 25 years. Here I am complaining like a spoiled child when there is someone out there who has it worse that I do. Sighs...just when you think you saw everything.

Thank you for sharing and commenting and hugs to a new friend.

First. you DO NOT sound pathetic at all! Second, just because I have suffered longer than you doesn\'t mean you have to feel bad for your complaining, sometimes the reason I am here is to help people as I have been through this for so long! Helping others, even if I\'m having the worst day ever, sometimes helps me to get me out of my mood and into helping the other person feel better about themselves! So never say you are sorry!

When you are alone and you just want somebody to hold you tight and tell you it will be ok, there is nothing wrong with those feelings at all. Now what the ex said about your depression was wrong 100% wrong, but it did sound as if he is starting to see a little bit of what you are really going through!

You ARE NOT A SPOILED CHILD! Don\'t ever say those words again! You promise me? You are here to complain, to vent, to put your true feelings out there to try to help yourself, help others and to get advice from others! Maybe even to find some friends! It is all part of depression and anxiety!

I used to be horribly depressed most of my adult live until one day I just realized it was more of a situational depression not a general depression...if that makes any sense? My doc still wants to put me on an anti depressant, but I take enough pills as it is and if we lose our medical ins. just another pill to have to come up with the money for! As long as I can have my anxiety pills, I will be ok!

I am a true blue friend and once you are my friend, there is nothign you can do to lose me and I mean that from the bottom of my heart! I do NOT mean I stalk people, I am just saying I see the good in people even if they cannot see any! I will always be a friend to somebody unless they want out of that friendship! So never say you are sorry again....vent, scream, yell, write it all out , as I will always be here to listen!

Big hugs to my new friend!

Thank you....I really appreciate it. I\'ll try an avoid the inclination of saying I feel pathetic. It\'s that I\'ve always prided myself as an independent person. I never saw the need to crave for affection from my bf or friends for that matter. Never know the day would come wher I would be begging someone to stay with me, the same person who on more than one occasion brought me to tears. Again I will try my best to swallow my pride. I think that is what I am feeling.
