I Don't Understand

I feel like I'm falling behind everyone and not seeing things that they do.  There're people going out and making friends; some people making best friends of the opposite gender.  I don't understand this too much.  Now, I do have female aquaintances, but I don't understanf how a guy and a girl can become best friends without expecting anything more.  What if one of them get's a significant other; then there will be at least some jealousy going on.  What if one of them gives off a wrong vibe and something they're regret happens.  Especially here at Penn State, where everyone is friends with everyone and you have no idea who's with who and how serious they are.  I just don't undersand.  I guess it's because I've never had a best friend that's female or never had a girlfriend before.

Females can make really good friends. If she is wanting more from a friend relationship with a male, he will know it up front. Like she will laugh at his jokes, and answer his calls, and respond to his advances. In other words, she won\'t leave him \"hanging\". But if she only wants to be friends, he\'ll know that, too. Because it will be just the opposite of what I just said.

They can be good and best friends, if the relationship is on a mutual understanding. So if one does get a significant other, it shouldn\'t affect their relationship as friends. Now, if one friend is attracted to the other friend and wants them to know how they feel, tread carefully! Because if the female only wants you as a friend and you decide you want something more with her, it could end your friendship. Because all she\'s wanting is a friend in you. Nothing more.

Hope this helps. Hang in there.
