I don't think I am coping in the right way
I have now lost 17 lbs. I barely sleep and have to work myself to exhaustion just to sleep. They put me on Valium and xanax to help with the anxiety. Case in point.
Tuesday I was up at 5:50 a.m., I fed and watered the animals, took a shower, picked up the house, put gas in the jeep and headed to town to smog it. On the way there the check engine light came on, and I noticed the speedometer and the odometer were not working, turned around and brought it home. I then pulled and checked all of the fuses and they were fine. Then I checked all of the fluids. I took a 5 minute break and then hopped in the truck and took it down to get tires, once I got to the tire place we got to talking. Realized the jeep had brand spanking new tires and we decided that since I am going to sell it that we would just take those tires and put them on the truck. They brought me to the house and I took the jeep down there. We swapped tires. Then I took the jeep into town, (because now the check engine light was off and everything was working) and got it smogged. I then came home and cleaned out the jeep, collected eggs and picked up trash in the yard. At 7:30 p.m I ate a piece of toast, at 8 I got in the shower and left for work at 9 p.m.
Wed: Got home at 7 a.m., fed the animals scrubbed and refilled all of the water buckets, laid down and slept for 4 hrs. Got up and I collected eggs, swept, mopped, and vacuumed the whole house, stripped all of the bedding did 9 loads of laundry (including all of the throw rugs), watered the plants, gave both of the dogs a bath and brushed them to within an inch of their lives. Hosed off the front and back porch, swept out the garage, got a ride down to pick up the truck. Took the cushion covers off of the couch and washed those, remade all of the beds. Went back outside and hosed off all of the windows and screens on the house, did the dishes, scoured the sinks, wiped off the counters. spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get the top of the stove off so I can clean under it. Cleaned out all of the expired condiments fro the fridge and reorganized the ones left, pulled all of the muzzleloaders and the stuff that goes with them out, took pics and emailed them to a friend who is going to help me sell them, thawed out some venison and boiled 3 eggs and fed it to the pug (trying to get his shedding under control). At 9:30 last night I ate a bowl of cereal. At 11:00 I was going to empty out the fridge and clean it. I finally decided to take a stupid pill and try to sleep. Went to bed at midnight.
Thurs: up at 3, then 4 got up for real at 7. Fedd and watered the animals, put away the last load of laundry. Now I am going to get in the shower and drive 70 miles to take my dad to the oncologist for the liver biopsy results. I am also supposed to stop and see my stepson who lives over there before I head back this way. I also have to go to autozone and get front and back breaks for my truck and a bulb for my little car as the headlight went. I have to replace the bulb today.
And that folks is how I spend everyday that I am not working. Also I am working around 70 hrs a week right now. I just miss him so much, my life has changed so much and I don't know how to cope with it except to just keep moving. I know these behaviors are not healthy but they are the only thing getting me through each day. I want to be normal again, I want to stop hurting so bad, I want to stop crying every single day, I WANT HIM BACK! And now I think I am going to have to watch my dad do the good fight against colon cancer that was removed Sept 2010, but he now has tumors in his liver and one lung. It is a losing battle, if I am lucky I may get a few more years with him. But from my understanding once it spreads the survival rate for 5 yrs is pretty darn low.

Sorry hun. The grieving is horrible I know. I have lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks. Usually eat when I get home from work. Take meds to go to sleep. Keeping busy is a good way to help but evenings are worse.
They say it gets easier, hope so!
Rough to say the least.......orry you are dealing with the additional grief of your dad\'s ordeal......no easy way through this........day by day, and sometimes, minute by minute........hugs
Lori
