I did something I never did before, I told mom that we were planning to start a family
Wondering will this be the month! This past weekend I went home to spend mothers day with my mother. We live in different states. I am very private when it comes to family planning. I know that grandchildren is something that my mom really wants now. Most of her friends are grandparents and goes on and on about their grandchildren. I did something I never did before, I told mom that we were planning to start a family and I asked her to pray for us. We've been married almost 3-yrs and I’m sure she wonders about it. My brother doesn’t have children either, but I always felt more was expected of me. She was so excited! I did not tell her about the miscarriages. So the rest of the weekend she would ask questions like, “so how many kids do you guys want?” “what are your plans for child care”? My immediate responses were short. I became instantly irritated. All I asked her to do was pray for us. Now I am feeling pressure and thinking I should not have said anything and remained guarded. Being a woman that have experienced two miscarriages family planning is not a easy subject for me. From this experience, I am not mentioning anything else to my mother on this road to getting pregnant again and prayerfully carrying a healthy baby to full term. Hopefully all will go well and the next time I will be bringing this back up to her is the end of my first trimester. And I hope in the meantime I won’t get the silly question are you pregnant yet?? I understand she’s anxious and excited but the reality is, is that I have had issues in the past with childbearing and I am very sensitive. Although I may not have disclosed the miscarriages to everyone, why should I have to? People should be more sensitive, you never know what someone maybe going through.

i completely understand. Tho we werent trying, we did tell my mother with my first pregnancy, with the cautious comment, ive been bleeding so it may not go well....after the first mc, i didnt tell any of my family directly about the other 2, my dad just found out the other day that i had 3 total.
I understand not feeling like you should have to tell her about them, but if you change your mind, it might relieve a little bit of stress off your shoulders, and make her a lot more sensitive to your feelings about family planning....i pray that you will have a positive test very soon, with a healthy baby soon following. I know how hard it is, and you are a strong woman. Hugs!
Thank you for those encouraging words and advise ksw77. I will consider telling her about the other misscarriages so she maybe more sensative. On another note, I am soooo happy for you:)
Thank you so much.
I understand not wanting to broadcast it, but i also know how hard it is to feel that pressure, especially when she doesnt realize what you have been going through. I know you will decide the best thing to do for your situation. Whatever you choose, i will keep you and your family in my prayers :)

Thank you Ksw77. This has been a tuff week for me. Baby issues, work issues, marriage issues. Hopefully the next thing will be a break and little more happiness and piece of mind I can sure use now:)
