That first building is SO PERFECT!!!
But it really needs work.... we walked into one of the bays and there were birds freaking out inside. They'd been trapped - having gotten in through some insulation outside and because they couldn't get back out, they were tearing apart the inside insulation for nesting - it was all over the floors. She (the employee who showed me the place) had no idea what was happening to the building. It's gonna need a new roof, gonna need new insulation, gonna need walls completed (they only go up half way), gonna need to be thoroughly inspected to make sure nesting birds are removed, gonna need the floors pressure cleaned and then sealed to make sure there's no residue of oil or antifreeze (which is toxic to dogs), gonna need heaters inspected and confirmed they're safe, gonna need carpeting cleaned in the office spaces, gonna need LOTS and LOTS of PAINT....
BUT.... Entrance is PERFECT - double glass doorway with dog height views blocked which will be perfect for dogs and cats coming and going... check in counter is PERFECT and won't need anything done to it to start operating... long hallway with huge counters will be PERFECT for storing supplies; Kitchen was PERFECT for preparing specialty meals; 3 extra offices will be PERFECT for staff, the rodent room, the cat room.... Mens and womens bathrooms were conveniently located near the offices, PERFECT for staff as well as customers.... extra hallway to the bays has doorways for customers to leave through without going through check in area.... first bay is PERFECT for kennel space - I might just be able to fit in 10 rooms there.... 2nd bay is PERFECT for small dogs to play and has 3 different water stations to allow for hosing down and heavy duty cleaning.... 3rd bay is PERFECT for large dogs in that it's double the space of the other two AND has access to a cement play area outside with a grassy area out back.... automatic garage doors in each bay that just lift straight up - add a fence to the front and fresh air for the dogs at the push of a button.... PERFECT!
I can SEE it. I can see the dogs playing... I can see the staff supervising and cleaning up so easily... I can see customers coming and going.... I can see myself grinning....
NOW, I'm MOTIVATED.... time to get the name registered, the corporation stuff started, and go for that financing. Ok, NOW I'm excited! LATER!
