I can't win

So, it has been a long week and then the weekend came and went.  My daughter had an invitation to a friends house to go to the pumpkin patch, corn maze and a Halloween party. She was to sleep over with her friend.  I agreed to it.  I felt that my daughter had been good and she was having a hard time like we all have been.  I felt it would be good for her.  She is not allowed to visit her brother in the hospital and she doesn't understand why.  Well, apparently my husband didn't think she should go.  I should have consulted him first.  He asked me after I told my daughter she could go if I was agreeing to let her go.  I said yes and gave him the same reasons as listed above.  He said nothing.  He has been distant and cold to me since.  Apparently he didn't feel she should get to go.  I am not sure why as he hasn't and won't mention anything to me.  He tells me how I never tell him anything and he feels like an outsider.  Well, he isn't sharing with me either.
Let's just say I know that my daughter is not an angel.  She has tantrums and is a girl in every way possible.  She gets on everyone's nerves.  She is needy and wants to be treated like a baby.  Ok,  I know she has her issues and she is rarely NOT in trouble.  However, she went thru this past week and was pretty good under the circumstances.  I rewarded her.  I am to blame for not talking it over with my husband.  I get that.  However, just once under these circumstance can't we let her go have some fun?  Maybe now that she has gotten to do it, she will know what she is missing in the future and will behave better?  LOL it's worth a try.
I am getting both of my children in counseling and I plan to do family counseling as well.  So, hopefully I can be a better parent and my kids will be better behaved.  It isn't going to happen overnight though!
Anyway,  my son does come home on Wed.!  I am very happy to get him back!!!!

First of all let me tell you...You are a wonderful mother!! Never doubt that. We all have children who misbehaves. We all have children who throws temper tantrums at one point. I am glad that you and your family is doing counseling. It will benefit you all.

I\'m glad your daughter got to go to the party. I think it did her the world of good to get out and be with some friends. Your family has been through so much. She probably enjoyed getting away and being with friends. Keep the faith. It will get better.
