I Can Make a Choice...
One thing I have learned....is that I have to quit comparing myself to others, and take my life as is.....walking forward, not looking to the back or to the sides. At times I find myself comparing where I am to where my friends or family members seem to be. Where I am is the result of the choices I've made. Where they are is a result of the choices they've made.... At those times, I sit and compare where I might have been if I had not made those choices....how much happier, healthier, and more secure I might have been...what I might have done and learned and experienced....how much more time I could have spent with the people I love... I can't change my past, but I can change my present. I can stop wasting time worrying about how much better off other people are than me....whether it be that I perceive them as being happier, healthier, more attractive, better off financially, better loved, enjoying their lives more..... I can stop beating myself up about bad choices I've made. I can stop feeling trapped in those bad choices. I can stop wasting time comparing where I might be now instead of where I would be if I had not made those choices.... With every day I am given, with every one day at a time I live, I can make a choice to choose MORE HAPPINESS. I can make a choice to take excellent care of my health. I can make a choice to look my best. I can make a choice to handle my money wisely. I can make a choice to love as well as I can, and to appreciate and accept the love I am given. I can make a choice to lighten my spirit to see the joy and humor in life.I can make a choice to learn.I can make a choice to give to others and be part of a community of people seeking a better LIFE. I can start each day with saying.... "I forgive myself for the bad choices in my past. I open myself to learning and living a healthier, happier life. The past is gone....the future no one knows....but I have today."

Beautiful journal.
When I see and read who you are and where you are now, I just think WOW.
First of all your are a georgous, loving, giving, person, Beautiful inside and out. I don\'t look back at what could have been anymore. For all I know if I hadn\'t had an addiction I may not be the giving person I am today. I may be judging others, I may not care about others the way I do. I would not be as close to my HP. I am not sure I would want to change a thing.
And yes, Forgive yourself. Yes the choices are YOURS. I see you making great ones.
Love Ya!!!.
hugssss.

Dianne,
I read your words and see so much of myself in them. I have spent so much time comparing my life to other\'s, feeling resentful, regreting my decisions. Today I am slowly learning that everything that has happened in my life is as it should be, becuase all of those things are taking me to where I need to be. This is something I have heard many times in the past and scoffed at, but now I am coming to believe.
Being allowed to share in your journey and your life, you have been a role model for me Dianne. Like Kimber said....WOW! I am just so proud of how hard you have worked, how dedicated you have been even through all that you have gone through this year. I think God has great things in store for you!
Love, Julie
Love your je.....so much thinking we do \'eh ?.
\'The one thougth that sustains me is...:
I did what \"I\" did \'because that is the way \"I\" thought.
My thinking has changed from many times before. And it may change again next year.next second or next month.....who knows......it\'s a journey \'\'.
\'Great sharing ladies.. we are a work in progress. Amen.
BE Well sanr.. p/s am tired from being \'in HOOTERS. or Owlette hour last night.......nap zzz soon.. ;but \"I\" loved the interchange of all Hootetts..
Dianne-this is such a good reminder of what not to do. In comparing, we\'ll always sell ourselves short. You are an inspiration to me. I always enjoy talking with you. You are so kind and understanding. The late night chatting - Hooters hour - is going to kill me, but it keeps me out of the casino-LOL.
love and hugs,
brigette
Dianne, I actually think we are pretty lucky in an odd way since we have made bad choices in the past. No, not to use as a tool to beat ourselves up with but we can understand what bad choices can bring better than some. We can also recognize the good choices we make today for what they are (o: No doubt about It, we are getting better, not by luck but by the choices we make today (o: Thanks for the reminder & just for today I will not gamble
Diane, you are doing all the right things to change the consequences of past choices, we all are. You know sometimes when we compare ourselves to others, it\'s only what we \"think\" the others are.... I guess you never really know, perhaps they have their own skeletons. I do know that you are showing incredible wisdom, incredible determination and working very hard to make the right choices. You are an inspiration to me and many others.
Excellent journal entry! The comparison of myself to others has always been a downfall for me too. Living in the past is another also. You and I and everyone here I\'m sure lived this way for so long, it becomes quite a struggle to stop it. It\'s nice to see your growth and to see you moving forward instead of stuck in a battle that none of else will ever win. Keep on moving girl! I love ya, Kim
Oo that should say none of us in the last line. I typed in a word someone was saying on TV, LMAO.
I love you je today, we are growing daily and realizing our life is our life. No one has a \"perfect\" life, only we can strive to make ours better day by day. Learning the best way we can.
Happy Thanksgiving
& just for today...

The right choice, it is our decision. We learn to make the right choice by making wrong choices. Your journal is truly an inspiration! Peace and Love. Patty
This is a lovely - Dianne you are showing such courage in writing this - facing the consequences of choices made whether good or bad but not letting the \"bad\" define you. I love this. Making your life better day by day and chosing today to living your BEST life
