I can get used to this...
I went hiking today with a bunch of people I met on our local meetup group. Weather was PERFECT (sunny, mid 40's), the area interesting (lots of history), and 6 people came out to join me. We walked 5 miles... past old calvary jumps, climbed up a steep hill to view the dormant volcano in the distance, stopped over at the old cemetery (stones date to the late 1800's), and to an old stable. I thoroughly enjoyed myself with the company and drove home smiling afterward. As I closed the front door behind me, I was waiting for the loneliness to set in.... but it didn't! Instead, I'm feeling content, looking forward to an easy dinner, then some quilting while I watch tv tonite. Yep, I can definitely get used to this.

That was a wonderful hike and you had company to hike with you. So much history to appreciate. Calvary jumps, a cemetary and an old stable. You certainly weren\'t bored.
The best part of your day was no loneliness. I hope you have much more of this in your life. You deserve it.

jeese...sorry bout the multiple posts...key got stuck, I guess; lol
peggsu2 - I\'ve been a bit nervous lately about the meetups as well as we have 2 missing people out here - both athletes, both over the age of 40. Last weekend, when I first suggested the hike, only 1 man signed on and I was debating on whether or not to cancel. But, that morning, I checked it again, and discovered 7 people had signed up. And once we were there, 2 more unexpectedly arrived! It was a BLAST.
