I am there!!!

Well I can see I have not been here in a very very long time! I am currently just 3 days away from starting my Medical Assistant externship.  That will be a 160 hour deal where I will be working in a office learning the actual MA stuff.  Hopefully I will do great because I would love to be hired.  Anyway, I take my CMA test on July 22nd and will find out if I pass right away as it is a computer test.  I will then be a Certified Medical Assistant! It was a lot of hard work and the going was not always easy.  However I never thought of giving up.  That is highly unusual for me.  Must be the field for me!  It is possible my friends, just keep believing in yourselves and remember....Let go, Let God.

Hey there Ichoppel!! How very nice of you to ask! Yes I am a \"Nationally Registered and Certified Medical Assistant\". Why I spent $16,000 to become one I will never know. I have been out of work (since school ended) for 7 months now. I have (literally) filled out over 500 apps and been to over 20 interviews and...nothing. I found out that when they do background checks they are looking at your credit as well. My credit is horrible. Lots of good reasons it is but I figure they dont really care about the reasons. Plus the Obama healthcare thing is hitting insurance places really hard and medical offices are having to pay hefty amounts for insurance for their employees. They are being super picky who they hire now. Like people with 10 years experience or the ever popular \"bilingual\" people. I met a super nice woman who lives in my town now but is from South Africa. She is retired but used to be a headhunter. She game me her card and said to send her my resume. She said she is going to work hard on helping me find a good job. She is a real feminist and said there is no good reason for me to sit at home becoming depressed when she knows there is the perfect job out there for me. She is thinking I should use my criminal justice degree and look for a child advocacy position. I am thinking that would be a really good career choice for me also. I know the law really well, and amazingly can actually understand it and remember it! So we shall see. I will update on that. Thank you again for caring. I am so happy we have you here as our guiding light! Your the BEST!!! :-)
