I am so sick of being sick

I would like to begin by saying I am a registered nurse by profession. Prior to the now, comical mishaps that led to my diagnosis of MS I had always been relatively healthy. Aside from migraine headaches I truly was not a sickly person. To be honest, other than the annoyance of my MS issues I am in perfect health. That is if you forget the fact I am so tired by 1000 am I can barely function if I don't take my provigil or that fact that I just turned 40 two months ago and have to write notes to myself incessantly. My balance is so horrific I really should not ever indulge in an alcoholic beverage due to the fact I can not pass a field sobriety check point test sober let alone intoxicated. My peripheral neuropathy is so horrid I eat neurontin like tic tacs most days. I have not been swimming in two years due to the new and fun spasm release my bladder started to preform when it hits water. I have tried to explain MS to people who are not directly effected by it, I have found it is becoming more difficult to explain as time goes by. 
I just failed Aublagio, after a 3 week try that almost killed me.
I truly am disturbed that none of these MS modifying medications really do anything to stop this disease.
The best I am suppose to hope for is slow the progression down? Shut my mouth... take a med that is the equivalent to saying my finger hurts, someone steps on my foot really hard and asks "how does you finger feel now?"
Is this the best that there is? I have been on mtx, betaseron, copaxone and aublagio... I have a anaphylatic allergy to ALL corticosteroids.
