I am elated!!!!

My son made Division 1 Classic league. For those of you who have no idea what the big deal is, Classic League in soccer is where the best of the best play. Division 1 is the Best of the Best of the Best. They made it in on their first qualifying tournament.
I AM SOO PROUD AND OVER JOYED and my insides are vibrating.
My son was the in the less than a handful (3) who did not let in a goal the whole tournament. Yes... my son is a goalkeeper. If you have watched soccer and know of good keeping he is along the lines of Memo Ochoa. Very aggressive and dang good. I am soo happy.

Congratulations to your son. It takes hard work and dedication to reach that level.

The team has worked their butts off to get there. But Mike, has put heart and soul into it. He makes sure he eats right, he chose soccer over baseball and goes our everyday and practices. When he was younger he was good on the field. When they got older and needed a goalie, we tried every kid on the team. As soon as those gloves hit his hands he was hooked. He was like a fish in water. All the staples in the head and cleats to the face they all added up to today. I cannot explain the feeling watching the kids I have taught since 4 and 5 go to such a high level of play. My heart is literally soaring with pride.

I am SO happy for all of you...that is a huge accomplishment. My nephew plays Lacrosse and when he made the Elite Travel Team we were all unbelievably thrilled. He also plays football and is extremely talented at that as well but really want to play Lacrosse in college. To be that good definitely takes dedication...not just from the athlete but from the family as well. YAY, Mike!!!!
