I Am A Coward

My little B.U.D. (Butt Ugly Dog) was only four inches long when I first got him seventeen years ago.  He has been my love puppy.  He stayed with me when my husband went back over the road as a truck driver, he cuddeled me when my daughter decided she was too big for that sort of thing, he stayed with me when I thought I was losing my mind.  He was always there, even when I ignored him.
He is so old.  He is in so much pain.  I can't keep him like this.  I was going to take him to the vet today, but I just couldn't do it.  Lynn will be off Saturday and he said he would take us.  I just can't do it alone.  I've done it too many times already.
