HYSTERICAL! Life lesson from 12 yr old

This is just too funny.  I mean, my youngest, DW, he is a carbon copy of myself in everyway except he's a boy.

I was griping about needing to dye my hair and how I hate it as it takes so long because my gray is resistant.  He just calmly looked at me and with the straightest face said "Mom, if you and dad would just accept you are old, you wouldn't need to dye your hair.  Think of all the money you could save."  ROFLOL ROFLOL

Now, I've always done accounting and I've always looked long range at cost so I quickly told him "It's not that expensive."  His remark? "Yeah, but if you figure it up over the long time, you could save a bunch."  ROFLOL  Yep, his mom to a tea and he's right......we could save probably $136. per year.  ROFLOL  That's about 1 car payment.

However, when he saw my roots, his "sweet" little remark was "It looks like snow up there!"  Yeah, you got to love him.  My little mini-me.

Well, thanks a ton, and yes, as the saying goes \"OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES\". The PTSD is so weird. I find myself doing odd things, or I consider them odd but it is more a compulsion than a desire. I HAVE to do it. I got the \"bright\" idea to find the report on dad\'s death. Yeah, not smart. Read it and totally went to pieces. Hubby is telling me to quit digging under old rocks but I can\'t explain the NEED to understand. No, it won\'t change dad\'s death or my sister\'s death, but the counselor told me that actually, my \"odd need to know & do things\" is normal grieving process and go with the flow. It is in no way macob or weird....it is the over-whelming need for answers. I\'m working my way thru it, now without meds as I couldn\'t tolerate them, and I keep repeating to myself that God has not given me a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love and a SOUND MIND. Hugs & love......

When my brother was killed and I lost my infant son 2 days later..... I had a season like that! It took me ten years later before I could grieve the losses, but then my sister lost her infant son (on the same day) 10 years later and it was like a volcano of feeling erupted inside of me. You do have to go through it, shoving it down or aside only makes it come back again to bite you in the butt when you aren\'t expecting it, so keep turning over those rocks, cry for what is lost then you can move on. Don\'t worry God does see you, and He knows, He is right there with you...what could be better?

I joined the PTSD group and posted there if you\'d like to read it. I suppose it\'s different for all people. What works for one, won\'t another. Me, I can\'t stand to look at the map/report on dad\'s death now. The first time I actually became hysterical crying and almost threw up. I still get that if I look at it. So, it too is neatly tucked away, like a security blanket, with the rubbing of my dad\'s & sis\'s headstone.

I\'m so sorry for your losses. Dear God, you are an amazing person! Isn\'t it amazing how the Bible states \"Jesus came to BIND UP the broken hearted\"? I suppose God knew there would be things that hurt us and other things that would shatter us. It\'s the shattering that needs binded up. The other stuff just needs the healing balm of Gilead.

Hugs & love my dear pal.

Through those losses I found Jesus. \"Lord to who should I Go? Only You have the words of Everlasting Life.......\" There was no place else to turn, thank you Jesus!
