Hyperthyroidism

Hello, I was just recently diagnosed with Graves disease /hyperthyroidism, in late Oct. 2016, apparently after several visits to my family doctor I have had these readings for quite sometime but it fell through the cracks and I was always treated for anxiety. Finally I had whay I thought for sure was a heart attack and someone found the issue. Anyway, I  awaiting an initial visit to the endocrinologist, can't get in until Feb. 2 , and I was originally placed on 30 mg of methimazole daily and 25 toporol. They have adjusted it to 15 mg of methimazole and 12.5 of toporol. In the last 5-6 weeks I have gained at least 15 lbs, has anyone else gone through this and what can I do??
