Hyperstimulation

So I have been in the 2ww waiting period and my pregnancy test date is approaching on 2.16.15. As I wait I had weird symptoms that raised some concern such as shortness of breath, pain in my stomach, and lightheaded. I contacted my RE and they stated that I should come in for an ultrasound. They found that I have a mild case of ovarian hyperstimualation and should take it easy and drink alot of fluids. I know that I was warned in the beginning of IVF that this could happen, and of course it did! Just have not been feeling myself, they didn't say that if I was pregnant that it would affect anything so I am hoping for the best. I am starting to get nervous as the day approaches and trying to stay positive, although there is another hurtle I must surpass.

Hi Kathleen. I\'m sorry to hear that. I\'m kind of in the same boat as you. Im on day 5 of stims and had my ultrasound today. After telling my dr about feeling incredibly bloated and heavy she said I might have an early onset of OHSS. I got it with my last cycle too and it sucked so bad. That was the one thing I was most scared of going into my second cycle. Guess they recommend a high protein, low carb/potassium diet. I feel like there\'s nothing left for me to eat. Hope the tww ends successfully for you. Sending you baby dust!

That stinks! Take it easy and drink lots of Gatorade, powerade or even pedialite. My doc said it would help with the pain in stomach and bloating and it really did. Also suggested lots of walking to keep blood circulating. Still praying for you and for good news on the 16th! Feel better :)

Fingers crossed for you. I hope the 16th is going to be a day full of joy! Please go easy this weekend. Watch TV and read lots of mags to keep your mind busy but not stressed.
