Hypermoflexibility

Hypermoflexibility is something I discovered when I was in my early high school years.

During P.E, we completed a dance module; and my friend and I chose rock and roll wherein I lifted her, but on one occasion she landed on my knee funny, and I had a "wobbly" sensation and spent the remainder of the week with a tubigrip on my knee and hobbling into school.

After a week of this my mom took me to A&E where I was told I had ligament damage and needed physiotherapy and I came away with crutches.

During my first physiotherapy appointment, the physiotherapist immediately told me from feeling my knee that I had dislocated my knee and partially replaced it. She then proceded to replace my knee cap from its dislocated position and then set me out for a 4 month physiotherapy course.

Thats how long my recovery took. 2/3 months on crutches, and 4 months worth of rehabilitation therapy which allowed me to learn to cope with my hypermoflexability.

I have been told my knee will always pop out of place due to this condition which is essentially- double jointedness.

This is something I have learnt to cope with and I have been out riding my horse when my knee has displaced before and I just power on through..but there are so many things I do that I'm not meant to, and I've never met anyone else with this.

It's something new I guess
