Hurry Up and Wait
Hurry up and wait. That seems to be what IF is all about. Hurry up and get this test...now wait. Hurry up and do this procedure...now wait. I am not so good at the waiting. Waiting for things has never been my strong point. Which is, I think, why God consistently makes me wait for things.
I talked with my RE's nurse about my CD3 blood tests. Apparently all of my numbers are good. I have good egg reserves, good egg quality, etc. We also did genetic tests, just to see if there was anything that could potentially be causing trouble. We are each carriers of a few obscure, strangely named disorders (Hereditary Fructose Intolerance? What?) but only one that we are both carriers for. MTHFR. Every time I see that acronym it makes me think of a really nasty bad word, by the way. Anyway, we are meeting with the geneticist on Tuesday to go over the results more in depth and get more of an explanation. The nurse said I should start taking methylfolate supplements in addition to my prenatal vitamin. But that it shouldn't be causing any problems with actually conceiving.
So here we are. DH's sperm are above average. My eggs are top notch - totally omelet quality. (I don't really like eggs cooked any way but in an omelet, so I figure those must be made from the best eggs, right?) Uterus and tubes are good, so I've got top of the line baking tools. So what gives? The only thing - in almost 2 years of doctors and tests - that we have found is the recent ultrasound showing polycystic ovaries. That seems counter-intuitive, doesn't it? My ovaries don't work correctly because they make too many eggs. It's like, shouldn't more be better? Come on, my ovaries are working overtime here. They're churning out eggs left and right. I told my husband we needed to live by the ocean. If we lived on a deserted island, maybe my ovaries would be cool with lounging in a beach chair, drinking some colorful, fruity drink, and taking their time about the whole process. Instead they think they live in a sweat shop factory assembly line.
I guess now we just hurry up and wait some more. Hurry up and submit our appeal...then wait for the insurance to decide if they will pay for an IUI or not. If not, wait some more while we save up. Hurry up and do an IUI...then wait some more to see if it worked.
Well played God. You're teaching Patience 101, right? It's the longest course ever. I think I'm finally getting it. Is it over yet? I'm tired of waiting....

That has to be so frustrating, seems like everything is perfect for you and then they tell you that you have to many eggs? WTF!That makes absolutely no sense. I will say that you have a great sense of humor although your having to deal with all of this, I try to do the same. You def have to be able to find the comedy during hard times. Did they say what you can do to help the polycystic ovaries? I think an IUI would be great for you, seems like you just need to time right. I\'m currently waiting on my 3rd IUI, I hate the waiting game too!
The hurry up and wait sucks! Also the undiagnosed IF sucks, so hopefully you can find some answers. Good luck!
