Hurricane
Well in my last journal I wrote about enviornmental changes, and New York just had a catastrophic hurricane on Oct 29th. New York just does not get these! At least in my 67 yrs of experience I never remember one. And they are predicting that more will hit the Northeast and take the same routes. Wow, my friend in Florida said it is time for us to move down there, may be safer!
I was up (and freezing) the night the hurricane hit. My husband went out and he heard the tree branches cracking and he was really scared. We got the last hotel room available Tuesday night, and we had to stay for 4 nites. My house was 43 degrees when we returned. Fortunately we had very little damage. A small piece of siding came off the house and a lovely arbor my husband built was blown over. Some of my friends were not that lucky. One in Long Island just had her power come on almost 3 weeks later. My neighbors who have a vacation home up here near me still have no power or water (they live in Brooklyn). My heart hurts for all those who lost everything due to storm and fires. What a terrible day for NY. Who would ever think that NY could be under water??
Makes me wonder if it is too late to un-do the damage that man has done.

Linda,
I think it is never too late. To me this is just a show of worse to come if action isn\'t taken.
I am keeping all those suffering from the storm\'s damage in my thoughts. So good to hear you and your husband made the decision to leave and found a place where you had heat.
