Hurricane!

Well, we survived Hurricane Sandy. No property damage to house or cars. Just lost power for 20 hours & weren't allowed to flush for 2 (they closed down the sewage plant in anticipation of flooding). The kids thought it was kind of neat at first; then when time wore on, they realized it's not as much fun without internet or electricity! LOL...
We didn't get too much rain, but a lot of wind. It was kind of scary! Lots of sticks came down & 1 dead branch in front, but no damage. Our neighbor's picket fence blew over, but she's already righted it up. The railroad behind our yard has a lot of trees on it; I suspect it's like that up & down the line as well. A good number of people in our state are still without power, but that's being worked on. And some of the shoreline houses got destroyed & of course there was flooding damage all over the shore area.
Me, I'm grateful that I'm not in NYC or NJ; they really got hit hard. In fact, I was just in NYC on Friday & Saturday for the Genealogy Event (which was great). The timing couldn't have been better!
