Hungry

Well here I am at 10 months out and watching the old patterns emerge. I am hungry a lot of the time although I try to turn to things like grapes, laughing cow cheese, yogurt and anything small and lower in calories (higher in protien). I see now why starting new patterns after surgery is so important. You are going to need them eventually. Most of us will become hungrey again after a time. Mine is a body that is resilient, efficient and adpats well. It's working it's way around this surgery just fine and trying to fiqure out a way to get back to where it was. Everyday I think I won't get my jeans on because that's what happemed in the past with diets. But everyday I put them on and look in the mirror and I'm still small.... so far. I am frigtened and worried but I know it's all up to me. I just hope I can do this. All I can do is try my best and make choices I can be proud of.

Hope I am 8 months and see the same thing..I am craving stuff at night and feel like you a little scared of old habbits coming back.. I still can\'t eat alot at a sitting but CAN eat the wrong things.. Now I try to pick good things but sometimes it\'s hard.. I see a huge difference in my clothes and LOve the new ones I am wearing but the weight loss is down to a snails pace which I find discouraging..I would still like to loose more but if I don\'t I sure won\'t drown my sorrows in a bucket of Kentucky fried chicken LOL It is all about US and the choices we make good or bad. So her\'s to us both for a job well done and lets HOPE we stay on the right path and always fit into those new jeans!

Yes choices. Christmas has been brutal. I was eating chocolate and chips jelly bellies cookies for weeks. Thank God all that stuff is out and I am only bringing healthy stuff in. My daughter has moved in and although she likes to eat too (she is an average weight) she excercises and tries to make healthy choices so that should help as I buy groceries for both of us. I would like to loose 20 more pounds to come out of the obese category and just hit overweight. Oh to be merely overweight..... I could probably do it if I wasn\'t eating bad stuff. I have maybe dumped 2-3 times through all of this and haven\'t dumped in months. Good old cast iron stomach I guess, even if it is smaller. Thanks for the support Raine, Vickie

Hope, hang in there. It is mind over matter. Just remember how much progress you have made in the last 10 months and pat yourself on the back! I am so proud of your successes! Focus on that. It will get better! I am out 7 months and my appetite is starting to return. I don\'t want my old habits to re-emerge but it feels like those habits are just waiting in the background willing and ready. I have to fight those thoughts off daily. We are all here to help. Stay focused! Jena

I sometimes wonder what the hunger will be like after 2 years and then 5. Does it get worse? Does it go back to the way it was? The one thing I hate the most is hunger. I wish I could have that after surgery feeling forever so I wouldn\'t have to deal with the hunger. I have a fresh start at 51 that I never thought I would get so now it\'s all my choice.
