Hung-up

It has been a while since I have written a journal entry. I have been doing well lately, however, there's this one thing.
I am completely hung-up over a guy I met a few years ago. I met him through work and thought he was simply, amazing. He has turned out to be the only guy who, when I confessed my feelings for, did not tell me he doesn't feel the same way, or reject me. He said he liked me too. Problem was... I was moving to Europe, with no idea of when I come back home. We hung out a few times before I moved, but nothing really ever happened. About a half year later, I came back home for a visit, before my studies started back in Europe. We met up at the pub a few times, had a movie night, and also went skating in a park. It would have been so romantic, if both us or weren't shy.
Then I went back to Europe. I went back home for the summer, and only saw him twice. Between the time I was home last, and the time in the summer, I had talked to him via facebook and told him I still like him. He said he still liked me too. Therefore, it was hard for me to only see him twice that summer. He bailed on me a few times, and I swore to myself I just have to get over him. Well, it has been a year and a half since then. Sometimes, I don't think about him at all, and other times, I miss him. I fantasize over things we would enjoy doing together, and then I feel lonely. I haven't been involved romantically since I moved to Europe, and from what I se on facebook, neither has he.
Sometimes I like to think he is still single, because he still likes me, but I think I know better than that. When I try to talk to him, he sends a few replies, then says he has to go. Every time. And every time he does that, I swear to myself, I won't ever try to start the conversation again.
I go home for half a year in January, so I guess I will see what happens?
If someone is reading this, what is your opinion of a girl making the first move?

Well, coming from a shy guy, I\'d love it if a girl would make the first move. I personally think it doesn\'t matter who makes the first move, as long as it\'s made by someone. If you like him and he likes you, go for it. Make him feel like the luckiest guy in the world because, if you two do start dating, he definitely will be the luckiest.
