Hung

Hanging the Nature Frame collection felt a bit like unpacking delusions of granduer. Did I ever really feel like this collection was worthy of a public display? For sure, I never got around to getting the collection to any of the potential display spots. Dunno. . . For now I am balancing harsh cricisms by reminding myself that an artist should never judge their own work. Insert Tchaikovsky story here. He thought The Nutcracker Suite was the worst piece he had ever written.

I think I like the idea of leaving the collection where it now hangs. If displaying and/or publishing my photo journals has a place in my future, I have all the originals in the digital backup which is far more portable than the cumbersome frames and prints. One less box to move.

The church friend who has been checking in on the river base camp in my absence texted during the typing of the above paragraphs. She reported that the hardwood flooring in the small studio off the kitchen is coming up. My thoughts immediately jumped to the leak which developed at the windows in that room during the winter snow melt. I thought I had fixed it, but. . . K concurred that it did, indeed, look like it could be flood damage.

Have the cosmos just provided the impetus for me to get back to my river dreams? For now, I am awaiting the arrival of Hubs, YS and GS. GD is still with me and is excited to see Daddy and Big Bro. Don't believe the base camp development is enough of an emergency to derail those plans. We see what grows. . .
