Huge improvement
Started rehab yesterday. Before the surgery I needed 25 liters of O2 to use the treadmill. Now I only need 6. Now that's impressive. Post surgical rehab is the same as pre surgical rehab. 1 hour of cardio on the treadmill and 1 hour of weights. Boy am I sore this morning. Now I have to motivate myself to use the tread mill on the days I don't have rehab. The weather is making me hurt even more. Thank goodness for pain medication or I would never make it through the day. Been in chronic pain since 1989 when I was in a car accident. (Years of gymnastics didn't help either).
Ray and I saved a life on Friday. We have a good friend who has terrible hemmeroids that have been bleeding for months. He had an appointment to meet with a surgeon on Monday. We spoke to his wife (a ditz) on Friday and from what she described, we knew he should be in the hospital. But the wife "didn't know how to get there. We got in our truck, drove to Pa, had his wife follow us with him in her car, to a hospital near us. He was white as a ghost, disoriented and had a yellowish tint to his skin. To make a long story short, the hospital said he was close to death! They had to give him 7 units of blood, his liver and kidneys had shut down. He is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday.
