HOW TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF

I usually hear that to have different results, you have to try something different.

Taking care of myself is something I strive. It's difficult. Sometimes I don't wanna do what I know is good for myself.

But taking care of ourselves is an ability we need for the rest of our lives.

Sometimes, when I am really bad, I ask myself: WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO FEEL BETTER RIGHT NOW OR TODAY? And then I do it, and it really works. It can be sleeping, not going to work, do nothing, eating, read about someone's else life, distract myself...

Sometimes, I don't know what can make me feel good, and I try many things and nothing works, but there is a long time that doesn't happen.

But, well, if I wanna feel better about my life I need to try different things. Going to work, going to classes and meeting my boyfriend on weekends and sometimes during the week, watching movies and cleaning the house (basically that is my life)..all those activities, although some of them are great and I still want them in my life, are NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE ME FEEL GOOD.

LET'S START WITH WHAT I LIKE:

- To be with my boyfriend is great, he is really kind and makes me feel good. What can be improved? I feel we talk too many times in the day, and sometimes we are left with not too many things to talk. I am trying to reduce it, and give space in my day to focus in another activities. He will have to get used to this new system. It is good for me and it is good for us.

- I have just realized that is the only part of my life I like. It's very clear to me. It is the only part that brings me happiness and  satisfaction. I truly understand why I feel depressed now. There's nothing wrong about me.

- I was writing a blog and I was feeling really happy about that. I stopped because I wanted to study for an exam in my area, otherwise I wouldn't have time. Maybe I should keep writing and study for the exam after I finish university. I need things that makes me feel happy.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:

- I have no friends.

-I don't really have a religion, or a connection to God that could help me. I used to read some religious book, just to see I don't really believe in anything. I don't know how to believe in God could help me. I feel lost about this subject.

- I have difficulties managing all the things I have to do to stay ok, like eating properly, exercising, etc.

- I am pretty negative about everything, I guess.

- I don't like my job.

- Most of university classes don't inspire me much.

- I live in a nice house, but it's a really big one only for myself. I don't feel like it is my place, it is  like a provisory place and I don't know when I will have my own. That makes me feel a little bit like a looser. It is a situation that hurted me more some months ago, and I am kinda of getting used to, but still is not nice.

You have friends here on this site. That is a good start.
And you have a 'significant other' in your life which is more than most of us here have, so try to focus on the good things in your life and appreciate them!!! Don't dwell on the negatives so much.
Do your best in your classes with the goal of erasing the "I don't like my job" negative point.
Concentrate on your goals and things will get much better!!!!
