Sorting, recycling and disposing of garbage in Japan can be a challenge so be sure to limit the garbage you collect in the first place by refusing excess when you can. Proactively, one can also inquire about recycling services when making purchases, quite a few businesses in Japan offer recycling services for their own products but these services are not well advertised. A good way to ensure your items don't end up in landfills is to donate them. Mottainai Japan accepts all kinds of items that will either be donated or exchanged for money to support global causes. Also there are several facebook groups where you can sell or giveaway your used items to other foreigners coming into Japan and may need them.
If you are looking for a quick and easy way to try out the current younger generations Japanese fashion, check out this brand. Until January 19, 2014, that same area was used to mark the centenary of the JAA with an exhibit devoted to its forerunner, the Teikoku Hiko Kyokai (Imperial Aeronautic Society of Japan, IASoJ). The selection of photos from They Flew Regardless was arranged along the corridor leading into the main hall, where a banner suspended from the ceiling proclaimed the IASoJ and aviation sports exhibit. Starting from there, the end of the wall on the left bore a vertical banner advertising the event, next to which were a few words of greeting from the museum’s director general and the JAA president. From there, three numbered vertical banners served to direct visitors around the exhibits. Finally, sometimes you also just need to be flexible with the styling of your clothes.
This might sound a little confusing, but the city of Hiroshima is well designed and easy to navigate. The connecting shopping malls and department stores make exploring this incredible city a pleasure. The exhibit changes monthly so you’ll see different Japanese woodblock prints and it’s over 14,000 collection of “ukiyo-e”. Entrance fee costs ¥1000 and you get to enjoy everything that this museum has to offer. With the exception of the MH2000s, all the main aircraft exhibits are officially on loan; the YS-11P from the JASDF, the Zero, MU-2B and MU-300 from MHI. The Zero description states that the aircraft will eventually be moved again, to the new home being planned for the entire MHI collection at the company’s Oe plant.
The café is called manga dou and is split between 2 buildings, the first building is a traditional café they serve a variety of foods and beverages including tea and coffee, I recommend the lemon and ginger tea the scones are also delicious. Sainokawara park is one of my highlights in Kusatsu it is a beautiful place that is located about 5 minutes away from the town centre. It is an area that is surrounded by nature and there are many seating areas where people can enjoy the sights and talk.
For some reason American and British brands are very popular at vintage stores in Japan. And you don’t have to give up on the trendy stores either; nowadays more brands are carrying large sizes, especially in their big city locations. Ultimately, you just have to try things out until you find what works for you. Some people might be against or hesitant to buy secondhand clothing but buying from a known and growing brand like Closet Child is different from buying from a shady place.
