How To Properly Clean Teeth With A uSmile Pro Tooth Brush

It is enough to apply minimal pressure to the uSmile Pro Toothbrush so that the teeth and gums touch the ends of the fibers with ease. It is always a contact cleaning and the ends of the fibers must touch the teeth and gums. The grip of the uSmile Pro Tooth Brush is different from the manual one. We hold the uSmile Pro brush stably with all fingertips, similar to a bow. For best results, clean for 2 minutes along the gum line. Then we switch on the brush again and clean the occlusal surfaces and we can additionally perform a wiping movement along the entire surface of the crown. The optimal cleaning time is 3-4 minutes. The periodontal patient is recommended to clean the target for a longer period of time - 4-6 minutes.

Step by step guide on cleaning teeth with a uSmile Pro brush

Toothpaste application:

We apply only a small amount of low abrasiveness toothpaste to the uSmile Pro brush, which is sensitive to your teeth. Use non-foaming toothpaste without SLS. Turn the toothbrush in your mouth. This will prevent the toothpaste from flying out of the toothbrush.

Brush positioning:

Apply the toothbrush to the teeth so that the head touches the teeth and gums at the same time. Route the fibers along the gums at a 45-degree angle. Do not apply too much pressure on the toothbrush.

From one tooth to another:

First, move the toothbrush from one tooth to another. In the next step, gently wipe from the gums to the tooth. Let the toothbrush clean each tooth surface for at least 2 seconds.

Interior surfaces:

Do not forget to clean the inner surfaces of the teeth in the upper and lower jaws with the same movement

For the front teeth, orient the brush vertically from the inside:

Take care to clean the inner surfaces of the teeth in the lower jaw. Unremoved dental plaque often turns into dangerous tartar here.

Biting surfaces:

Also clean the biting surfaces by slowly moving the brush

Rear teeth:

Be sure to clean the last chairs and their backs

Interdental cleaning:

We will supplement the cleaning separately with interdental hygiene, which we perform first. Cleaning can be supplemented by interdental cleaning with the AirFloss device, which is gentle on teeth and gums and contributes to their health. AirFloss is a suitable supplement whenever there is an increased need for oral hygiene: for prosthetic work, gingivitis, fixed orthodonic apparatus. For prosthetic work, the use of AirFloss is easier than the use of superfloss, which contributes to the regular use and improved care of oral cavity and its health.

In case of bleeding gums and inflammation, AirFloss offers them the opportunity to apply antibacterial water in a targeted manner. It is also ideal for changing the size of the interdental spaces. It is universal in this respect. Clean the interdental spaces on the outside and inside.

How to care for a toothbrush

The most basic and most important dental hygiene aid is a toothbrush, which is designed to remove food residues and dental plaque. Therefore, in order for the toothbrush to serve us and our teeth well, it needs to be given a little care.

The toothbrush ideally lasts 2-3 months when brushing our teeth twice a day. After this time, the fibers wear out during use - they break up, reducing the ability of the toothbrush to remove plaque as well and quickly as when it was new. The first splitting of the fibers is not visible to the naked eye. If we already see that the bristles of the brush change their shape, it is really high time to replace it.

We should not forget that dental plaque is made of bacteria that, when removed from the teeth, remain on the toothbrush and can continue to multiply on it. In the bathroom, where there is heat and humidity, they have ideal conditions. It is necessary to thoroughly clean the brush under running water, not just rinse it. For better disinfection, we can also use antiseptic mouthwash.

If you have a toothbrush frayed after a month of using it, it is probably due to the excessive pressure you exert when cleaning your teeth. For perfect removal of dental plaque, no pressure is needed, but the right technique and sufficient cleaning time. In addition, high pressure could irreversibly damage the gums and expose tooth necks.

We should also be aware of the risks associated with a shared bathroom and toilet. When flushing the toilet, a number of bacteria get into the air, which then settle throughout the room, including the toothbrush. According to scientists, bacteria blown in this way can fly in the air for more than six feet (approximately 183 cm).

You can store the brush in antibacterial caps, which not only serve to store the brush, but above all contain active substances for the destruction of bacteria on the brush and keep it hygienically clean. The antibacterial cover can be a nice accessory for the bathroom, or a toy and a gift for children.

There are currently so-called sanitizers on the market. The UV lamp emits shortwave ultraviolet radiation, which disrupts cellular structures and thus destroys them. In a few minutes, it discharges 99% of unwanted microorganisms on the brush.
