How to comfort the grieving

Yesterday, I asked myself in my journal on how to best assist someone who is grieving the lose of a loved one.  What does one say...or not say?  What should one do...or not do? I found a little booklet titled "How to Comfort the Grieving...A Dozen Ways To Say "I Care"".  These are the dozen ways they suggest: 1. Be present2. Listen with the heart3. Avoid cliches4. Please touch5. Stay in contact6. Send a note7. Give a book8. Extend an invitation9. Be patient10. Encourage activity
