How's this for an oxymoron?

Some people think an "oxymoron" is an ox with a low I.Q. Ha!

But most of us know an "oxymoron" is 2 words or 2 concepts that don't go together, don't make sense.

Well, every July our building has an oxymoronic celebration.

We call it our Cook-out and it is served indoors!

Actually the meat is grilled outdoors.

We had to sign up weeks in advance, and after 100 people signed up, they had to turn away the rest. The dining room in Bldg. 1 only seats 100 according to fire regulations.

When we signed up, we requested a hot dog, hamburger, or cheeseburger. I opted for a plain hamburger, figuring that would save some calories that could be put to better use--like on dessert!

We had our meat (which was well-done and tasted grilled) plus baked beans, coleslaw, chips, drink, and strawberry shortcake for dessert! Haven't had cake since Christmas and haven't had strawberry shortcake since Moby Dick was a sardine! WHAT A TREAT.

Rest of the week it's 1200 calories, for atonement.

Enjoy your summer!

Sounds like you are behaving so very much better with your calories than I am, so kudos to you! We do have to treat ourselves every once in a while, lest we ... give up. : ) Keep up the good work!
