"How not to be a dick - an every day etiquette guide." So many people need to read this. lmao.
slept great. its colder outside again, about 60 and windy, but not raining. cleaned off a portion of the deck, but you can't do much when its windy, everything blows all over the place.
always tons to do. noticed i still have a sore throat and my stomach can't handle much. tried teriyaki chicken and it made me sick. even french vegetable soup was too much, but chicken rice soup goes down okay and popcorn is soothing. coffee doesn't go over well, but tea or juice is fine. wonder what we all have? another guy at work has this, he had this two weeks ago as well. it gives him runs, i think because he isn't eating right. he should stick with toast and chicken soup, its boring but it works. the women at the library have it as well. one of them said she hadn't had a cold for ten years and then got this twice in december and still has it. she also said she was purposely going to work with it to infect everyone since they gave it to her. what an asshole. i'm finishing up the book "the stand", by Stephen King and he has a page in there of how the "blue flu" ended up an epidemic, the signs and symptoms, which then kill the person in one week and the entire planet ends up dead except for a few thousand people total. wow! love that book. i keep thinking of that book, as people keep complaining about having this cold/flu, whatever this is.
have ana on her second round of amoxi with interferon. i only see mild improvement. the cats seem to enjoy iams for dogs over 7 years as much as the dogs like it. pretty strange when they share food like that. allll animals like cat food, and if a dog is getting chemo or being treated for heart worm, cat food is the only food they can digest properly (they will die of malnutrition without it, while being treated for chemo or heart worm, because they can't eat dog food, its too harsh), but finding dog food that animals like is difficult.
just started the book "the help" its a best seller and every book group on line recommends it. its written in slang from the 1950's and the main character who is doing the speaking, is "the help" - a mississippi maid and nanny. the first time i tried to read it, the english slang was too strange to follow, but this time, it seems okay. its placed in mississippi.
we watched spencer tracy in the movie about thomas edison. never realized how many things edison invented. nikola tesla worked for edison before opening his own lab - tesla also had a zillion patents. so brilliant. he was serbian-american. nothing else going on. everyone is back at work. feels like its been closed forever, even though its not long at all. the malls started taking down decorations the day after christmas, which is odd since christmas lasts 12 days to january 6.

I tend to get sick when I read The Stand. Some virus gets me and then I freak out LOL. It is a good book though. I love Stephen King :)
have you read the one on jfk and time travel. that is really good too and its fairly recent. i used to be a big fan of stephen king and then stopped reading them because i had too much reading to do in college. he\'s always good though. you fall right back into him. he draws you in and all that. the dead zone is a real short book of his and a good one for people who haven\'t read him yet to start with. that\'s the one where the guy is in a car wreck and in a coma and then comes out of the coma like ten years later and his girlfriend is married to someone else and has a kid and during the coma he has become psychic.... love that one.
read some more of \"the help\" and i know why i stopped reading it. its depressing. its well written. lots of quotes and insights. but you can FEEL the oppression and the violence of the time. the way they treat blacks. the every house has a separate bathroom for people of color, even a small house. the colored people carry different diseases and all things separate should be a law. the violence at their own \"white\" children (hitting) and that most of these children are raised and receive all of their affection and acceptance from the nanny/maid who is black. the help always know. she says. they have everyone else\'s secrets. i know this is going to end up being a violent and oppressive book - its disturbing more than entertaining so far. may not read it, just as i put it down last time. i\'m from the south - both my father and mother are from the mississippi area - stunning that they grew up in that kind of environment, but they would have had to have. omg! her stepfather was a part indian (1/4 but with a brown card) minister, no wonder he always preferred life on the reservation to give him a break and so he could \"breathe\" and get away from \"all this\" i guess that is what he meant. when he retired he chose the reservation. our country is something else
Read Pet Cemmetary! Don\'t think I\'ll ever be the same. Scared the crap outta me. Had to put the book down. LOVE his writing though!! Just have to buckle up before you start reading! xo
read that book a long time ago, an ex-boyfriend gave it to me for christmas or something in 1983. it was good. i liked the movie as well. there is actually a need for pet cemetaries as a business.
