How Many Times?

Dear Journal,
I wonder somedays  all the questions that go through our minds, whether we are
Pre- divorced, Divorced,or Post divorced.
Such as:
Am I doing the right thing by getting divorced?
Will god forgive me if i do get a divorce?
Will my children forgive or shun me?
Being raised a catholic of course all these questions  cross my/ our minds, and rightfully so,but then i revert back to the "Footprints" poem in when they were walking on the beach with god and they only saw 1 set of footprints in the sand, and we thought we were alone, but that was when he(god) carried us,I love that passage and refer to it often, when life starts to get a little out of control for me. I know i am making the right if not painful choice to divorce.

I know i have the love and  support of my family.
I know i have the love/support of my friends both here at DS and the outside world.
I also know that on those tense, maddening, crying, screaming days that we all go thru at 1 point, that is when god is carrying us,because he never wants to see a child of his hurting,he is always, loving, kind and understanding, and only wishes for his children to be happy.
This is just a thought that has been going through my mind for awhile now, just thought i  would write it out,for future use to look back on later.

Great Journal entry. God always forgives. You just have to ask. (Hugs)

Yes, Our Lord, ALWAYS forgives. I didn\'t see anything getting better in the marriage, no connection just in name.
When I got the divorce, he carried me, he put resources in front of me AND I grew happier, so therefore, my Lord forgave me and saw the pain that I had in that marriage.

He knows of the unbearable pain that you are experiencing at times. He will carry you thru to where ever you will go After the marriage is dissolved.

He knows that You/WE/Me tried to put effort into the relationship and all it was -- is a heartbreak one right after another.

The only change you will see is, if his heart will break after you leave and what reaction he will experience.

My ex, said he wanted go out looking for me, but during the marriage I was always there -- while his a-- was at the bar. He came lookin again 8 yrs later so I still had a choice and you will see that also.

a Legal separation might make him think twice, to see how serious you are about improving the relationship and how much more effort he needs to put into it. Just a suggestion, not a marriage counselor here.

I wish the best for you and so does our Lord.
He is carrying you right now.

I\'ve just had a couple very tearful days. My stbx is supposed to be moving out in 3 days - he bought a house, but hasn\'t mentioned a word to anyone, including our children. One of our biggest issues - his inability to face conflict. Also being Catholic - I have gone through this process with my priest, and he is very good about chasing the guilt away. Its a blessing to have support from many sides, but still painfully alone at times. So the next few days should answer some questions and I really need to remember Footprints! Thanks for that.

I am NOT Catholic. Not \"churchy\" either, but HIGHLY SPIRITUAL. My only words for you are this:

As long as you BELIEVE in God you are NEVER ALONE!

You can substitute God for any of these:

\"a power greater than yourself\"
\"Heavenly Father\"
\"Spirit\"
\"Our Creator\"
\"Yahweh\"
and probably a lot more I can\'t think of at this moment.
Keep your FAITH in YOURSELF and your trust in God. Those two things will get you through to the next part of your Journey.

I agree with my friend Kathi, sometimes all you have is your faith in a power greater than yourself when no one else seems to care as they are so involved in their own lives that they miss someone who may be going through a situation.
