how many road songs do YOU know?

Driving today.  Dad needed stitches removed from his neck where the most recent skin cancer was taken.  Mom usually drives him, she takes the route with the least amount of curves (tricky in this part of the country). Wow - such a production for them to get in and out of the car.  Both of them went up to the Dr.'s office while I moved the car (and wolfed down a fish sandwich (forgot to bring my chicken)).  By the time I got back up to the waiting room they were done and ready to leave. We stopped to see Janie - she was not her usually bubbly (the word SHE uses) self.  The medication she's taking to reduce water retention seems to be taking her energy away.  We didn't stay long.  Back to the parental home, put more laundry in the car.  I'm now back at my friend's house where I'm staying, relieved to be able to come back early and get in a workout at the local gym.  About to start cooking my carbos for the rest of the week (asparagus and sweet potato) while I wait for the washer and dryer cycles. Mom says no hurry about coming back in the morning, they plan to sleep in.  The session with the Dr. took all of about 5 minutes, but for my parents it was two days out of their life demanding all their stamina and mental focus. Mom also expressed relief that she didn't have to drive through all the rain - their little Alero has traction control, as does my Volvo, which means both cars slip on wet pavement and absolutely suck in the snow. Okay - enough lollygagging.  back to work!
