How Many Lives

How many times will I write a new poem?In search for my one shred of peace Put a bullet to your head, now you are deadLeaving children, a wife, and a whole world to grieveLife is so cruel, this you knew wellBut strong enough? No, you never wereYou couldnt see through the grim and the dirtA life load of dreams you willingly deferred Forgetting your loved ones as you selfishly sought A beer and a gun for relief Put a bullet to your head, now you are deadLeaving children, a wife, and a whole world to grieve How many lives will be so untimely done? Before we awake to the truthFlowers are the only reprieve to be caught Our interpreter to a life so tragically construed. For It is the simple liberation in a nice cup of teaA small bunch of daisies we didnt expect to receiveLet these small things give us strength In our great time of need As children, a wife, and a whole world grieveFor a life so untimely done2/8/10Shawn i love you, i miss you so much you were always there for me. you encouraged me when no one else would and taught me what being indepented and strong meant. i wish i could understand what you did.. i pray you find the peace you were looking for and if anyone who takes the time to read this could send a prayer upwards for his children, this family really needs it right now...
