How low can you be

Not doing so well.  Just stuff and attitude from my youngest son.  He said he will no longer go to church with me as we started charging him rent this week and lots of fights over him applying for jobs.
His computer died this week or rather he decided to factory reset it and killed it so lots of drama there.  He ordered a new computer and I said I would drive him to Best Buy to pick it up if he got some job applications done.   He went to put his shoes on and said "we are headed to Ogden right?"  I said yes, then said well did you do your job applications.  He said no.  I refused to drive him to pick up his computer and he got angry and hostile.
So off I went to church where in the car I told my husband it was time to stop doing anything for this ungrateful angry child.   That we were not helping him by babying him through his life and letting him blame us for everything.  Got to church where my favorite priest was preaching.  What was the msg today.  Generosity, not just of money, but of spirit.  Committing acts of kindness.  And not expecting anything in return.  How no act of kindness is a waste and they should be given even to those who are mean to us.  How even if you have a new coworker who is after your job you should still help them and be generous to them.  How you should give to others and it is a reward in itself.
Two of the songs...one about not hardening your heart and letting God heal your hardened heart, and ther other about being tire, weak and worn, but letting God lead you to the light.
I have never felt more the subject of a sermon in my life.  So I came home and took my son to get his computer.  I do not think I did the right thing, but felt led by God to do it.  However I also feel so overwhelmed by this msg.   I do not feel strong enough to do what God is asking of me.  This hateful child who lives in my house and demands and demands and demands and gives nothing, no thank you, no love, just blame for all we have not or are not doing for him.  He breaks my heart daily and I just do not know if I can keep giving and giving.   That God has asked that I do this....it is killing me even more.
I have been in tears 4 times today.  Thinking of one of the songs we sang Lead Me Home I find myself wishing that he would lead me home to heaven away from this world.  I stared at a bottle of cleaner wondering how bad it would taste and if it would kill me or just make me sick.   I just am not strong enough to follow God's path for me.

I\'m sorry to hear your feeling so down.its a shame alot of this new generation of kids feel this sense of entitlement without giving back in return.I see it at times in my home too and it describes my one sons gf to a tee!I think it can be really hard to know what\'s right or best when dealing with kids this age my kids are the same ages.sometimes love can be shown in different ways sometimes it\'s doing what is hardest.but I go thru the same struggles and have debated charging Brent too.maybe its not so black and white maybe we can be firm with rules but loving at the same time.I think that\'s more the message.I hope someday your son sees how much you\'ve done for him and with time will mature.I hope today is a better day for you XXX.

I meant charging rent. My one youngest spends all his money on his gf,who demands it,and doesn\'t contribute to household because she won\'t let him.I have messes too...this too shall pass. Xxx
