How In The Heck Did I At 36 Get Mono?!!!!
So, I started to feel bad last week and I thought that my asthma was getting triggered by allergies. I had to got to the hospital last Friday because my right lung decided to take a little break. So, I had a pretty bad asthma attack that required two breathing treatments and a round of prenisone.
Well, I thought let me just be low-key this weekend and I will be right as rain on Monday. Well, Monday came I felt horrible but I thought to myself well maybe the steriods have to kick in. Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that I told the ER folks about my painful lymphnode in my neck but they didn't seem all that concerned. Which brings me to Tuesday...that's when the strep like tonsilitis kicked in and I went to urgent care after work. Turns out not only will I be feeling crappy this week but I have Mononucleosis at 36 when everyone else is immune usually by my age and I will be feeling exhausted and crabby for awhile.
The worst part is that I am off heavy activity for at least four weeks (cause I don't want my spleen to explode). Which means that the two races I have coming up are off. I needed to be able to take advantage of no OA flares to get my training going.
Frankly, this sucks. I'm tired. If it's not within arms reach, I'm not getting it until I get enough strength to care and then get enough strength to get it. I just thought I would vent and get this off my chest.
Inhale and Exhale...now my perky self has returned.
